Was given a sack of batik strips, all uneven widths, and made these two charity quilts. Still need a good pressing and to be quilted, but you get the idea. Great way to use up all those odd ball pieces.

and another from the batik scrap bag.

QuiltnNan 06-23-2012 08:12 AM

both are terrific. i like that in the second one, the light color is in the same position in each block... it adds an extra pattern to the block

QUILTNMO 06-23-2012 08:13 AM

They are both very nice!!!

misscarol 06-23-2012 10:05 AM

northern lass 06-23-2012 11:43 AM

Really nice quilts

dunster 06-23-2012 12:14 PM

They're all wonderful quilts.

lollygagging 06-23-2012 01:07 PM

Great use of scraps. I'm beginning to think there is no such thing as a scrap. Each piece is just a "quilt-in-waiting." All three of your creations are wonderful. Thanks for inspiring and sharing!

Sandra in Minnesota 06-23-2012 02:29 PM

That's my kind of scrap quilt too - just be creative!

katsewnsew 06-23-2012 02:44 PM

Great way to use scraps!!

BeckySt 06-23-2012 06:57 PM

Those are great scrap quilts, my favorite is the triangle one.

Heather Hayllar 06-23-2012 07:09 PM

Oh how I wish I had your fairy godmother!!!
Batik's on their own are scrumptious, but to be given a bagful??
Brilliant choice of block too.
Love them both! I wanna be in that charity.....................

audsgirl 06-23-2012 09:14 PM

That's what I was thinking, too! Scrap safari! They're all just beautiful! Isn't it amazine what great things you can do with "leftovers"?

MacThayer 06-23-2012 11:46 PM

Love the asymmetry and dynamic use of the diagonal line in these quilts. Colors are great as well. Nice work!!

debcavan 06-24-2012 01:48 AM

Great fabrics! Crazy quilt wouldn't have been my first choice but boy would I have been wrong. It is wonderful. I think you just grew my imagination. I tend to be too conservative sometimes and in some areas.

debcavan 06-24-2012 01:52 AM

My comment posted itself before I was done and that was good because when I came back, I saw the quilt made with the triangles. You make great quilts and they are out of scraps. We all have strengths in quilting and a great eye seems to be one of yours. The quilts are wonderful

Nan C 06-24-2012 03:57 AM

Clever idea....thanks for posting. Happy quilting :)

#1piecemaker 06-24-2012 04:00 AM

Love that look. I just cannot grasp the crazy quilt thing, but have lots and lots of scraps. May have to rethink and retry. Thanks for sharing. Love those quilts.
