My Wagga-Inspired Quilt
1 Attachment(s)
I made this of wool-blends. The batting is wool, as is the backing. It's really heavy--very warm!

the perfect winter quilt. Looks so cozy.
just what we need for this winter in Wis
I don't know what a wagga is either?
A wagga is an Austrailian utility quilt. I'm not Austrailian, but I love the idea of using what you have to make what you need. It's much the same concept as that of my great-grandmother's and grandmother's quilts--but they didn't use much wool.

You've captured the spirit of the wagga beautifully! Well done. The fabric selection and the placement of the ties is really effective. Look forward to seeing more:)

Great quilt. Love the lay out and colors. Looks very warm during cold winter nights.,
Cute, love the wools and tying the quilt makes it even cuter.
Very interesting information. Love your idea.

We have four daughters. When they left home I had a closet full of rejected wool skirts, blazers, slacks, etc. I cut them up into squares and made several quilts out of them and the kids stood in line for them. They were flannel backed and had a light batt in them and they were very warm and cozy. Good job on your wagga!
Now that's a quilt! Love it
These are the quilts we used when I was a kid...only not as pretty!
Great quilt!!!
