Oh my yes I do this all the time....I just love to plan, cut and piece, not so much baste and, oh my aching back, quilt. I usually piece until I have a bin full of tops and then do nothing else until they are finished and stored up on the pile o quilts upstairs. When my family comes to visit, they get to go through the pile and pick something for themselves. I usually get around two dozen quilts, large and small done in a year. So plow through the tops, get them done, done and done and they you can happily piece your tops in peace...

Yikes! I don't want to know how tall my pile would be.

Well, I am in awe of you having so many quilts. I think it is pretty wonderful. Wish I could say the same. I do have several projects started; wish I could finish one. LOL.

I think you made me feel better about my pile of WIP. And now I'm going to try to follow your example and get these quilted.

I generally piece 3 to 5 tops before I sandwich them to quilt. Then I quilt them, put the binding on, and then take them to my sisters to finish the hand sewing of the binding. Then I start the process again. Good luck getting your piles quilted.

I can identify with this. I have 1 king size quilt waiting to be quilted as well as 3 lap quilts, 6 Project Linus quilts, 2 table runners and blocks made and ready to put together into 10-12 more queen size quilts---and those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head. lol I am trying to learn to FMQ, but I still need a lot of practice. I am having trouble getting the tension right. It looks good on the top, but the stitches don't look good on the back. Frustrating, but I will keep trying. Never give up! lol

Well at least they are all neatly stacked.

I have a "stash" of quilt's needing quilting too. No long arm here and no extra cash to get them done this time of year.. I'm going to do one as a Leah Day 365 days of quilting project. Plus I want to see exactly how large a quilt my machine will tolerate. Keep going girl, Tops are the best!!!
