my WIPS are out of control
1 Attachment(s)
I started gathering then up and getting backs ready for the quilt tops-oh my.this is the downstairs pile-there is more upstairs.this pile is 2 ft tall.9 queens,5 laps ,5 baby tops and about 30 runners and toppers.I must hoard WIPS,LOL.I am quilting them now until I run out of batting.I have another pile like this upstairs that I did not do the backs for yet.I feel embarrassed and liberated at the same time.I have spent a long time piecing without quilting this year-time to change that.I will post quilts as they are quilted.

It's easy for those tops to sneak up on us. LOL Look at it this way, now you're ready for Christmas, birthdays, baby showers, etc. Looking forward to seeing them quilted.
Wow, that's a lot. I get nervous if I have to many piled up.
Well , it definately time for getting the stack reduced... Be determined!
Can hardly wait to see your finishes. My pile is probably as big or biggeer than yours. I'm working slowly on mine, too.
Well now you've got me curious what all those tops look like. Can't wait to see them as you get them quilted.
I didn't think anyone had me beat - but you do
I only have a few more than 40 - all of mine are bed quilts |
That's a GREAT stack of loving and caring tops. Consider backing tops with tops for a reversible quilt and cut the pile quickly. That's what I do and they are doublely wonderful.
You can either think of them as work undone, or work half done!
To me, they are standby quilts. If you need a quilt in a hurry, you have a stash on standby, already half (or 3 quarters) done. |
I can hardly wait to see the finished quilts, I love looking at your work. Happy sewwwing and quilting.
I agree , i too love looking at your work. inspires me into uncharted areas.
wonderful stack of WIP's impressive. |
Looking forward to seeing some of these beauties. Happy quilting progress.
Gives me nightmares!!! Can't wait to see them as they are finished!
Can't wait to see the finished project. After about ten table runner tops I got nervous and figured I had better get them done. Can't wrap my head around having that many unfinished projects waiting to be quilted. I know that they will be super when you finish them. BrendaK
I thought I was the only one who liked to make blocks and tops but put off finishing them. Good to know I have company.
yikes, that's quite a few. keep on pluggin' along
Look on the bright side, lots of quilting practice. Start on a top that is it not your favourite to get in your FMQ groove. Once you're in the groove, "pedal to the metal."
You certainly will have lots of quilts to practice all sorts of quilting designs! Please post when you quilt them up, love to see what you decide to quilt!
Many of us are relating to your piles. I keep getting new ideas and think I HAVE to at least start them.
I am delighted to see someone has more than I do!!!
beleive me i know the feeling
I am only a bit ahead of you. I started my pile earlier this year and am making progress. I am down to three bed quilts and I sm caught up....then I will begin again. But we do have a couple of major holidays coming and I may have to have surgery in December so I sm really pushing myself...normal for me:)
You have been very busy. We look forward to seeing them completed.
I am glad to see I am not the only one with too many projects going.I am quilting today and hope to have some pics tomorrow.

That will keep you busy for a while. Looking forward to seeing each completed.
Well I don't feel so bad anymore, I'm pretty sure I am in the same boat, I keep telling my self I will start piecing backs, but I always put it off. But I am going to start as soon as I get down with clients quilts.

I only have a few more than 40 - all of mine are bed quilts ..I counted over 60 tops either twin sized or larger--but I don't call them WIPs at this point--they are tops, pressed and waiting for me. But I just bought two rolls of batting last week, so I am ready to get started on them. I want to get 20 finished before our Christmas give away when I will give a lot of them away. Of the 20 that I want to finish, probably at least 10 will be tied, so they should go fast, esp. with my helpers! But yours look like they will be so pretty! I see some really nice looking fabrics....can't wait to see them! |
Sounds like you are planning to WHIP them into shape!!
Thanks for sharing, you made me feel not so alone in my WIP-I hate the quilting part.

Good for you for tackling your WIP. Looking forward to seeing pics of them finished. What in the world are you going to do with that many quilts? I don't know 40 people I would like to give one to.
Just get started and keep going. I can't wait to see them finished.
LOL...and I thought my piles were big. You better get going!
Looks like lots of quilting without spending lots of money. :p
Time to get quilting
I'll be happy when the fabric I have are made into tops. Good luck finishing your tops. Sue
WOW - impressive for sure. I wish I had that many tops finished. Would be great just to have one in the waiting in case of a gift. I usually finish mine and give them away. Guess I better get busy....lol.
It looks like you had a blast making them!!!
