nice job

babyquiltlady 10-29-2011 06:34 PM

I have the same machine - you paid a great price.
You can check the year it was made by looking at the number on the machine.

I have all my pieces to mine. I will look over your pieces and see what you have or do not have and get back to you.

pocoellie 10-29-2011 06:52 PM

babyquiltlady-it was born Feb. 1922. I would really appreciate you getting back to me on the attachments. Thanks

babyquiltlady 10-29-2011 07:07 PM

3 Attachment(s)
Here are the pieces that I have for my treadle and a picture of my treadle. The only part that I have replaced has been the belt, otherwise I have used my machine to sew. How fun!

You are one lucky gal! beautiful machine

Yooper32 10-30-2011 04:11 AM

A none-too shabby Red Eye, looks to be a back-mount 66. And, to top it off, a 6-drawer cabinet. I am green.

HummerGardenCrafts 10-30-2011 04:16 AM

Really a great deal! I love the designs on the sewing machine!

Ed 10-30-2011 05:10 AM

That looks like one of the best finds I have seen.

stitcherlady 10-30-2011 05:39 AM

Noiseynana 10-30-2011 05:46 AM

LUCKY GIRL!!

CajunQuilter2 10-30-2011 06:01 AM

WOW awesome deal. I am wanting one soooo bad but have not found one I am willing to pay what they are asking in the conditions they are in. One day though I will find the perfect one for me.

BeverlyH 10-30-2011 06:05 AM

I found a website that shows one of the attachments. If you go back to the home page it shows you lots of attachments and tells you how to use them. If you have a problem, PM me and I will find it and send the home page. Beautiful machine! Good going! http://pleasantviewschoolhouse.blogs...fler-foot.html

craftymatt2 10-30-2011 06:40 AM

very nice, have fun using her.

MargeD 10-30-2011 06:47 AM

What a fantastic deal. Who says you can't get anything good anymore for $10. Congrats on your lucky find.

paulettepoe 10-30-2011 06:56 AM

Did you ladies know that when women used the treadle machines so long ago, that they did not have blood clots in their legs? I read that sometime ago. Something for all of us to think about, I guess.

Beautiful Red Eye. You got a bargain. Just a tip (in case you don't already know) be very careful cleaning her up, use something gentle, or decals could be damaged.

girliegirl 10-30-2011 07:05 AM

OMFG!!! You are so lucky you are across the board from me! enjoy your red eye! I got my Grammy's from Wittenberg Germany!

fayzer 10-30-2011 07:28 AM

Your machine will be beautiful with some TLC. For N. Florida or lower Alabama board members, there is a beautiful Singer Red Eye on Craigslist in Callaway right by Panama City, Fl for $100 OBO.

WHAT A TOTAL FABULOUS SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tanya Bunch 10-30-2011 08:53 AM

There is a really cool book explaining the attachments for the old machines. Great pictures and general information.
It's called the "Sewing Machine Attachment Handbook" by Charlene Phillips. Wonderful resource aid. I think I got mine from Connecting Threads on book sale but I am not real sure.

suzm 10-30-2011 09:08 AM

You did great!

kyquilt 10-30-2011 09:14 AM

I knew when I saw the caption''Yard sale find'' It was going to be, and it is:
''HEART STOPPING"" You are a very lucky lady!! Have fun with your old, but new Machine!! :)

TnBecky 10-30-2011 09:29 AM

bisseau 10-30-2011 10:02 AM

maryp 10-30-2011 10:14 AM

luv the redeye been wantingone of them. lucky u

fabric_lover 10-30-2011 10:59 AM

The attachment upper right looks like a buttonholer. See the open space in front enclosed by metal? That looks like where you line up the where you want you button hole placed. But how you work it is a trial and error, I do not know.

drgranny 10-30-2011 11:04 AM

What a Find!!!! Mine was a bit more pricey than that, but what the heck....I am happy with mine.

auniqueview 10-30-2011 11:22 AM

Great deal, and nicer than the one I turned down today for $130, with a bunch of stuff. Yeah, stuff, lol. I don't want stuff, I want a good machine. SHE wanted a display. Well la de da.

You are right about the prices some people are asking for the machines. They are dreaming, lol.

Qwiltylady 10-30-2011 11:42 AM

That is quite a find!

QandE2010 10-30-2011 12:15 PM

Lucky for you!!

Sandra in Minnesota 10-30-2011 12:26 PM

A little TLC and you have a beautiful machine!

jpmaroni 10-30-2011 12:28 PM

Wow, it's a beauty.

mountain deb 10-30-2011 01:56 PM

The drawers alone in an antique market sell for about $10-15 a piece. Cabinet looks in good shape. I believe I could not have got my money out of my pocket fast enough.

traumaRN 10-30-2011 01:57 PM

Stunning! Beautiful find. Good for you!

twixbar 10-30-2011 02:40 PM
