There are more then 50 yards here. I did well. Most are Peter Pan and VIP's so not the best quality but good enough for a lot of things.

I was sooo blown away when I saw it. I will make it big enough for a throw but I am not sure what I will do with it from there. It is soooooo 70's ugly!!!!! When I was a teen I would have killed for that quilt.

cutebuns 08-22-2009 07:09 PM

ummm, decisions decisions, I am eye balling a lot of it, mostly the pinks, peach and the blues.

Ninnie 08-22-2009 07:09 PM

Wow!! You got that at a yard sale?
I have never seen material at a yard sale around here.
What a haul!!! :D :D :D

Love the peach and the green.

Eddie 08-22-2009 07:11 PM

nursie76 08-22-2009 07:24 PM

I am green with envy! Why don't I ever find anything like that?!

Mousie 08-22-2009 07:25 PM

aww, Kw, it's so sad...a quilter must have DIED!!!
How in the world did you rack up like that at a yard sale????
Good goobledy gosh...wheet whew!
Just remember, it might not all make a great front, but you can always put it on the back!

joeyoz 08-22-2009 07:31 PM

What a score. I'm jealous. lol

Pickles 08-22-2009 07:33 PM

amma 08-22-2009 07:45 PM

Woo Hoo!!! You did good!!! :D :D :D

deedum 08-22-2009 08:44 PM

What a great find! I stopped at one sale today, found a beautiful clock for my sewing room for a dollar! I was happy.

Iluv2quilt 08-22-2009 09:02 PM

WOW!!! What a find! I especially love the peach colors, that will make a gorgeous quilt. I want to find a yard sale like that one!

kwhite 08-22-2009 09:23 PM

Yes a quilter did die. I felt kinda guilty when the son said $5.00 but then though she would be happy that it went to a quilter and will be used as she intended. I have washed and dried it all. The Linus quilt idea is a good one. I will look into that for the rest of the squares from the 70'rific quilt.

Moonpi 08-22-2009 09:33 PM

You certainly made up for all the crappy yard sales! Great score!!!!

Jim's Gem 08-22-2009 09:48 PM

Nice score!!! You can always make some donation quilts with them!!!

cutebuns 08-22-2009 09:48 PM

I am sure that it will all be put to good use, I can see quiet a few great things come out of the fabric. It is great that it went to someone that knows what to do with it.

Bevanger 08-23-2009 03:57 AM

OH WOW! YOU SCORED BIG TIME KIDDO

deedum 08-23-2009 04:27 AM

Wowsers! Guess that is why I should take a few minutes to go to some sales! My neighbor got 5 1/2 yards for fifty cents last week. I am sure the lady would be happy to know it went to a quilter who will appreciate it.

MoMoSews 08-23-2009 05:18 AM

WOW! 5 bucks??? Can you feel the cyber envy?

sewjoyce 08-23-2009 05:40 AM

WOW -- $5 -- you did better than good!!

Yarn or Fabric 08-23-2009 06:29 AM

Too bad you didn't live closer to me - I have loads more fabric than that at my yard sale! I decided to do stash busting and sold a good 80 yards or so at the last yard sale - and that didn't even put a dent in my stash! Our next sale is going to be in a few weeks... I'm going to break out more fabric and try to find loving homes for it. I think the fabric was the biggest hit I had at least for my part of the yard sale. I'm looking forward to the next one. I even have two bolts of fabric that I'm planning on finding homes for - I need to put a sign on that next time - will cut pieces as needed - that will help that sell a bit better I'm sure! I better bring my rotary cutter and my cutting mat next time too!!

Great score though! It all looks beautiful!
There are yard sales out there that have awesome craft supplies - that reminds me I'm dying to find out how my friend did yesterday - they were going to a sale that listed fabric in the items for sale... I wonder what she found!!

Joan 08-23-2009 07:02 AM

The former owner is smiling with joy knowing
that her stash went to such a good place!

What beautiful projects are in the future!

quiltwoman 08-23-2009 07:05 AM

I think you did great! Love all the pinks.

Teacup 08-23-2009 07:49 AM

Good for you! You did great. As you said, I'm sure she would be happy that it was going to a quilter. I've picked up a few remnants at some sales, but never found much. We are all jealous.

RedGarnet222 08-23-2009 08:06 AM

Oh wow! What a haul!!! You did exceptional on that sale, girl.
I love the first stack. I am very jelous that you found so much in large pieces that you can actually use as a quilt.

The seventies fabric? Well, It is fun and cheerful. I made many a skirt out of these back then. LOL! As a matter of fact, I still have the scraps left over upstairs in a box. LMBO ...

littlehud 08-23-2009 06:28 PM

Beautiful fabrics. What a great find.

Tink's Mom 08-23-2009 06:42 PM

Lucky you! Very nice fabrics.... My best garage sale find was a Featherweight several years ago...again a quilter had passed away..........

deedum 08-23-2009 06:44 PM

ahhhhhhhhhhhh! I am missing out on all the bargains. A featherweight! Gonna have to do better on this end! For sure, but I am happy for all the finds! :-o

MollieSue 08-23-2009 06:49 PM

Wow!!! Good for you!!!! :D I thought I was doing good the other day when I got a big box with big scraps/fat quarters for $7! lol!!!!!

happy sewer 08-24-2009 04:55 PM

HI , I'm new to the message board. I love to yard sale.
Great find. But I want the sewing machine next to all the
fabric. I bet it's a viking.

I love to read all the ladies post. Now I can join you.
