My zero quilt and first quilt (top)
I would like to present my "zero quilt" and first quilt. The zero quilt is called that because I consider it a piece where all possible mistakes got accumulated so that I don't make them in my next works from then on. Then there goes the first "real" quilt that I am going to use at home (the zero one is intended as a picnic blanket - it is not "too good to put on ground"). The first quilt is a top only right now - I am going to buy batting and finish it after the next salary arrives on my account.
Mistakes or no mistakes, I also made a simple matching bag to keep the picnic blanket in. I hope it will be useful. I have already used it on one picnic and it felt good. https://www.quiltingboard.com/member...805-574569.jpg https://www.quiltingboard.com/member...805-574570.jpg https://www.quiltingboard.com/member...805-574571.jpg |
Welcome to the QB. You are a brave one to do this "zero" for your first quilt ! You've done a really great job. We learn by our mistakes. Don't let them discourage you. I've learned to just keep going and try to do better the next time. My kids don't care about "mistakes" and I've learned not to tell them about it. It's a great feeling to see them wrapped up in something you've made.

great job! my first quilt was a disaster

Good grief! You chose a really challenging pattern to begin with. All those points and sashing squares to match! Wow! You did an amazing job!
