You could use the one on the left as a large panel-type piece in the center, and use the other around as a border, with perhaps a solid navy blue piping or narrow border in between.

That sounds like a good idea. Will put that on my list also.

I use to be in the Navy, and I loved it

Another way to go is to make a "6 Hour Quilt," pattern by Kaye Wood. Since all strips are cut 6" wide, the pattern on the fabric isn't terribly obscured. You could use both your fabrics and supplement them as needed to achieve your desired finished size.

Putting both of these ideas on the list also.

This was one of the first ideas but was not sure what kind of border. Striaght line or different pieced blocks?

Love the fabric. God bless these service men and women!

Another great idea. You all are wonderful, got me wanting to stop doing what I am doing and work on this. Thanks to all of you.

My son served in the Navy. I want to make him a quilt using the same fabrics. I also plan in using some photo prints of his ship and ship's logo in some of the squares. I have it in my head, it is still a few projects away. God Bless those who are serving and have served in our Armed Forces.
