One thing I would do differently next time. I would cut out the peltex for the front first, and then lay it over the fabric for the flap and draw around it to create the sewing line to get the exact same curves. I had a little trouble getting the curves to match. I also just drew on the lines for the sides at 60 degree angles as seen on this blog instead of transferring the lines and also, like I mentioned, move the d rings. I ended up putting them on the very outside between the folds (I can post pictures if needed). Otherwise the pattern is very easy and straightforward. |
adding that I bought the hardware from emmaline bags on etsy and it's very good quality. Part of the turn buckle (the part on the flap with the hole) actually screws on with tiny screws instead of using prongs like many of them have. I regretted it for a day or two when it took longer than I had hoped to arrive (from Canada) but it was totally worth the wait.
