Necessary Clutch
1 Attachment(s)
I finished it. I changed it a little. I made it an inch or so taller so my phone would fit, and I added a zip pocket to the inside plus one on the outside for my most-used store cards and credit card. I also changed the position of the D rings (they were too far in and scrunched up the flap) after these pics were taken. I found that I prefer using it with a long strap like a cross body purse. I added a tiny zip pocket (not shown) that snaps onto the inside for my small key tag size store cards and I added snaps to the zip pockets so I could snap them together, making that center pocket closeable. Fabric on the outside is Sophie and on the inside it is Lovely, both from Moda.

sorry about the lousy pics-I took them with my phone and I had just installed a new rom and wasn't sure which camera app would work the best with it.

|
Where did you find the pattern? It is very cute! Love it!
|
thanks everyone. :) the pattern is from emmaline bags. I bought it at craftsy but it's also for sale on etsy and on her website here: http://www.emmalinebags.com/the-nece...let/4575098877
One thing I would do differently next time. I would cut out the peltex for the front first, and then lay it over the fabric for the flap and draw around it to create the sewing line to get the exact same curves. I had a little trouble getting the curves to match. I also just drew on the lines for the sides at 60 degree angles as seen on this blog instead of transferring the lines and also, like I mentioned, move the d rings. I ended up putting them on the very outside between the folds (I can post pictures if needed). Otherwise the pattern is very easy and straightforward. |
adding that I bought the hardware from emmaline bags on etsy and it's very good quality. Part of the turn buckle (the part on the flap with the hole) actually screws on with tiny screws instead of using prongs like many of them have. I regretted it for a day or two when it took longer than I had hoped to arrive (from Canada) but it was totally worth the wait.
