Because of this I auditioned 2 different tone pinks to see if it helped. I thought it did to a point, but one was too dark, the other was the tone of pink that seemed to clash with the junction triangles. With quilting I think it will look better than it does now, and my DH feels it's fine as it is. Would you be kind enough to express your opinions please as which way I should go. |
I like the darker pink. To me the ring would be vibrant. You are right about the colors as original are insipid, just dull. Good luck.

While I like the darker fabrics, I would suggest considering the recipient. If the recipient approved the original fabrics, than that is probably more her "look". I wouldn't add other darker colors without check with the recipient first. Some people like a softer look, others will like the pop of color. The only opinion that really matters is the person who will get the quilt.

If you decided to change colors without the customer's permission, it would be the same as if you ordered a Ford sedan from a car dealer and he decided to deliver a Chevy pickup. That would be fine if you didn't care if you got a Ford sedan or a Chevy pickup, but some people would have a problem with the unexpected change. And some people would have a problem not getting the color scheme they selected in a quilt.

I like the lighter of the two . It makes the quilt blend more with the flower fabric.

I like the original colors too. I have an old fashioned ornate white iron bed and the pale colors would look pretty on it.So what I am trying to say is the original colors may go with her style. the quilting will really make the quilt too.

Actually, if you are changing colors to add ummpf, I'd use the lighter pink, and find a green to blend the other green with. Then alternate the pinks and greens.
Otherwise, I like the original plan. It will depend on what you are going to do in the center. Are there going to be and applique's, embroidery, fancy motifs of quilting? Any of these will add to the finished look of the quilt and need to be considered. |
I like the first one -- it looks more old fashion like the pattern.

Prefer the first one - softer is not a bad thing. Can be livened up with the quilting in the larger spaces.

I would be inclined to keep to the original....I am sure the addition of quilting will make it come "alive".
