I think your fabric selection is great. What about making the centers all different? I really like the yellow, red and blue prints in the centers.

I'd go with the same solid for all the plates - the yellow is fine.
Using a solid unifies the blocks If you sash, I'd use whatever solid you used as the center. If you have a corner stone in the sashing, I'd then use a mix of your prints |

I like the yellow the best, then the red next. I don't like print for the centers, makes the plate not stand out. Beautiful plates by the way, 30's fabric is my all time favorite.
