This baby quilt is going together quickly and I need some ideas on how to finish it. Should I add half squares around the edges to make the sides a straight line or should I put the half squares and then a border? Or should I just finish it with the angular sides? The centers are baby critters in a berry patch, the outside rows are garden vegetables and material I received from my Secret Santa. Help please I need to have it done after this weekend.

I mean I only have time to work on it until Sunday.A couple of more pictures, the color are better in person.

I see the sides filled in with a green binding.....good luck

Denise, I like the triangles on the sides, then I think I might put a small border (maybe 3") of the brown check and then bind it. Just an idea for you.

It sure is cute--I love your fabrics!! Be sure to show it again when you finish it.

I think leaving then angles would look really neat! It would definately be different from anything else. But then again, I'm a big fan of different:)

That's really a cute quilt! The bunnies are so cute.

gcathie, Did you mean something like this? I do not have enough of the brown checked to make borders. I toyed with the idea of leaving the points on the side, but thought they were too deep. The quilt is a baby shower gift.

reneebobby 02-03-2009 05:54 AM

The last picture is perfect.

LindaR 02-03-2009 05:55 AM

i like the idea of a narrow border too...can you bind with the check?

gcathie 02-03-2009 06:07 AM

yes I love the points filled in with the busy green ....not feeling that solid green...what about the yellow....and only for the binding?.....see what ya think...

gcathie 02-03-2009 06:29 AM

are you happy with that.....?.....it's hard to tell here I need a photo farther away....but does go with other colors...what you think?

DA Mayer 02-03-2009 06:30 AM

I can't seem to get the golden yellow print for border to come thru.

gcathie 02-03-2009 06:34 AM

That's okay I think it will work .....for a boy or a girl....not to much of one or the other and if your happy with it and you'll have enough to do the back wa la....call it another project well done! :-) Oh what about a dash of red instead of the yellow?

DA Mayer 02-03-2009 06:50 AM

I checked out all my reds and don't have any that even come close to looking nice, I think I will go with this golden yellow and try to finish it today. Thanks for the help

gcathie 02-03-2009 06:54 AM

Lovely quilt! Will you fill in the corners with more of the bunnies? What a cute fabric; I would bind with a toning darkish green, just an idea! Let us see the finished quilt before you pass it on to the lucky baby!

That is looking great.....hows them cornors coming???.....1/4 of a block....looks to me...

k9colliedog 02-05-2009 01:42 AM

Use the half squares definately. it will finish it off nicely, and the border should be in the same material I think.

Quilt4u 02-05-2009 03:25 AM

Very nice.
