I love the diamonds. What a pretty border. Your quilt is great. Variegated thread would be wonderful for quilt. Thanks for sharing with us.

Definitely the second one. Personally I wouldn't use scraps for the back. I think that would be too much.. Just make another quilt!

I really like the squares on point, but before I looked at the second picture, I really liked the first one too! LOL What a beautiful quilt.

I am greatly looking forward to having enough scraps to make a scrappy quilt, and I think I will use your idea when I do! (I've only made two smallish quilts and a pair of oven mitts...lots of scraps to build up! LOL) I even have a huge piece of black to use for the borders and sashing. Thank you for the inspiration!

I vote for the second one. I like the way the squares on point take the eye around the quilt.
First option is ok too.
