I started going through my scrap bins ~ which are overflowing ~ and came up with this..but can't decide what to do next..either one is lovely. OR should I just leave the colored squares off and use varigated thread to quilt?? I am planning on doing a scrap binding using more color. Or would that be overkill?

looking great, so much fun working with scraps, be creative!

stewyscrewy 10-10-2010 07:52 AM

i like the squares on point as it changes the look to better focus on. I.e. changes the focal point per say.

Auntie M 10-10-2010 07:55 AM

like the whimsy of the second one!

cjk 10-10-2010 07:59 AM

I'm no help... I like them both!

luvTooQuilt 10-10-2010 08:00 AM

I like the first photo best.

mom-6 10-10-2010 08:01 AM

Like it very much! The on point squares give the perfect finishing touch.

nativetexan 10-10-2010 08:03 AM

i like the first best.

Friendly Quilter 10-10-2010 08:03 AM

I really like both designs. I do not think that a multi colors binding would be to much. I am gettin gready to get into my scraps and you gave me a great pattern to make, thank you.

AnnaK 10-10-2010 08:11 AM

I like the scattered squares best. Let us see what you end up with.

wolph33 10-10-2010 08:13 AM

IrishNY 10-10-2010 08:20 AM

I love the second one. It provides a great contrast to the linear nature of the rows.

Jan the Quilter 10-10-2010 08:21 AM

Both are beautiful. Quilt with the varigated thread and bind and it will be great.
Jan :)

I like the second one. It looks happy!

Char 10-10-2010 09:02 AM

The first one is my choice and I would do the scrap binding for sure.

Iluv2quilt 10-10-2010 09:06 AM

Great idea for scraps, turned out really nice! A colored binding would add to it I think.

franie 10-10-2010 09:07 AM

#2 is my preference but being scrappy either will work.

bronald 10-10-2010 09:12 AM

I like #2 best, with scrappy binding..

merrylouw 10-10-2010 09:45 AM

I really like # 1 best. It will look great with a scrappy binding and varigated thread for guilting. It's very pretty the way you graduated your color values along the strips.

amma 10-10-2010 09:53 AM

The first one looks more traditional... I love the whimsy of the second one :D:D:D

MerryLou....to be honest ~ that wasn't intentional. I just grabbed a stip and sewed them together. =)

JJean 10-10-2010 10:02 AM

Wow great use of scraps! I like both but prefer the first. I love your quilt!

ScrapQuilter 10-10-2010 10:02 AM

#2 does it for me............... love your quilt

I always feel a scrap quilt is a free quilt.

newquilter10 10-10-2010 10:13 AM

My vote is number two also. Stands out better.

Lori L 10-10-2010 10:15 AM

I like the 2nd best. The squares on point adds a change which catches my eye.

np3 10-10-2010 10:19 AM

I love anything on point, so that gets my vote. Both look good though.

LETIA 10-10-2010 10:24 AM
