Love them both, but I prefer the 2nd one also

maporch 10-10-2010 10:58 AM

I really like the 2nd one :)

Love the squares 'on point'.

I like #1 the best although both are pretty.

karenm36 10-10-2010 11:55 AM

I like the first best. It looks like your feedback now is about half for the first and half for the second...which means you can't go wrong either way! Stepping away for a while and then coming back to it may help you decide what you like. Love the way you've used the scraps and yet it all seems very planned. Nice job!

#2 is my choice but both are lovely

sunflower126 10-10-2010 03:57 PM

I like the first one best.

ccb2200 10-10-2010 04:00 PM

They are both lovely but I like the second one best.

mollymct 10-10-2010 04:18 PM

I like #1!

Sewsweet 10-10-2010 04:21 PM

Nice quilts.

dlspeed1 10-10-2010 04:43 PM

Second one, but either is okay, I just like the second one better! :)

What about tumbler blocks as the final border in all your scraps.

Mariposa 10-10-2010 07:06 PM

I vote for #2~

littlehud 10-10-2010 07:51 PM

I love the diamonds. What a pretty border. Your quilt is great. Variegated thread would be wonderful for quilt. Thanks for sharing with us.

Ditto here!

Definitely the second one. Personally I wouldn't use scraps for the back. I think that would be too much.. Just make another quilt!

finch 10-12-2010 03:08 AM

I agree with Stewy.

Ditto; the first has an "add-on" look to me, rather than a finishing touch.

mmonohon 10-12-2010 03:16 AM

The second option looks more whimsical and gets my vote.

deema 10-12-2010 03:17 AM

I really like the squares on point, but before I looked at the second picture, I really liked the first one too! LOL What a beautiful quilt.

I am greatly looking forward to having enough scraps to make a scrappy quilt, and I think I will use your idea when I do! (I've only made two smallish quilts and a pair of oven mitts...lots of scraps to build up! LOL) I even have a huge piece of black to use for the borders and sashing. Thank you for the inspiration!

Mamagus 10-12-2010 03:18 AM

It is a bit boring until the squares go on point. Just MHO!

quilt3311 10-12-2010 03:56 AM

I vote for the second one. I like the way the squares on point take the eye around the quilt.
First option is ok too.

bobolee 10-12-2010 03:58 AM

I love the second one. The border looks great.

sumcoop 10-12-2010 04:21 AM

I like the diamonds.

Agree! Lovely, fun and creative

CarrieAnne 10-12-2010 04:40 AM

I really liked them both!

iqlt2 10-12-2010 04:45 AM

i'd like a wide black border with pieced binding

Patched 10-12-2010 04:51 AM

My vote is #2

Central Ohio Quilter 10-12-2010 04:52 AM

My vote goes for #2. I love the randomly placed diamonds throughout the sashings, along with the diamonds on the border.

reginalovesfabric 10-12-2010 05:03 AM

I like both....great way to use up scraps. I do something similar....I do mine on a foundation, about 2 1/2 yards long, 7-8 inches wide. Then I strip it together usually 9 panels and call it my "earthquake" sometimes I put a row on top and bottom going the other way. I use whatever is in my scrap box and they are colorfull....you did a great job

mimee4 10-12-2010 05:42 AM

Definitely the dancing squares!!
