My vote is also #2

prezzy 10-12-2010 04:11 PM

My vote is for #2 also.

PJO 10-12-2010 04:18 PM

I like the second one best.

NanSew 10-12-2010 04:24 PM

I vote for #2 also.

kristen0112 10-12-2010 04:26 PM

LOVE LOVE your second picture. I don't think it would be over kill to use more colors in the binding it will be gorgeous when your done.

quilt nut 10-12-2010 04:32 PM

I like the 2nd one, myself.

Nancylou 10-12-2010 04:37 PM

The 2nd one. Beautiful work!! I love the bright colors with the black. Very striking.

Sharon Chaffino 10-12-2010 05:04 PM

I love the second option with the squares on point. It makes the quilt a whole lot more interesting. Using varigeted thread to quilt will still make a nice choice for quilting. When it come to color i think more is better.

cactusmomma 10-12-2010 05:33 PM

I love the one with the squares on point. Colors are very pretty.

prayerquilts 10-12-2010 05:33 PM

I think having the falling diamonds change colors so the color is between the colors of the row above and below them would look nice. Have a reddish orange between the red row and the orange row...a yellowed orange between the orange and yellow row..etc.

annette1952 10-12-2010 06:01 PM

I like #2 the best but both of them are nice! Please post & show us your final choice.

Rexene 10-12-2010 06:13 PM

I like the first example the best. The second one seems too busy and gives me an unsettled feeling.

Blue Bell 10-12-2010 06:26 PM

I like #1.

vannadine 10-12-2010 07:16 PM

I like the 2nd one.

the real misfit 10-12-2010 07:28 PM

i like how you have it set up in the second pattern it is really nice

koko 10-12-2010 07:29 PM

The second one appeals more to me - has more wow factor!!

GloBug 10-12-2010 08:06 PM

The second one is my favorite, but both are wonderful.
Great job

I with mom6; #2 really gives it a nice zingy finishing touch. No contest, IMHO.

Same here........adds movement in my mind.

maxi 10-12-2010 09:19 PM

Love #2 but like the first one too. I think I will visit my scraps and make one too. Thanks

Hobbyhorse1027 10-12-2010 09:22 PM

I like #2

desertrose 10-12-2010 10:56 PM

I think the one with the squares on point is the finishing touch for this quilt.

catmcclure 10-13-2010 01:59 AM

Love the second one. The squares on point really add something. The first one is sort of plain jane and predictable - which is okay, but the second really seems young and adventurous.

lass 10-13-2010 04:39 AM

#2

Short an Sweet 10-13-2010 04:41 AM

I like them both but the 2nd one is georgeous

JoyjoyMarie 10-13-2010 05:39 AM

Whatever this means- I agree

Cottontop 10-13-2010 05:52 AM

Both very nice way to use up stash...I do like #1 the best. And, you have given me some ideas...

Annaquilts 10-13-2010 05:54 AM

Either lay out if great in my humble opinion. Very eye catching quilt!

dorrell ann 10-13-2010 06:55 AM

They are both great-pesonally I like the second photo with verigated thread.

gail-r 10-13-2010 07:06 AM

i also like the on point borders. :)

KLO 10-13-2010 12:55 PM

I am with StewyScrewy and Prayerquilts. Number 2 is so much more visual and carries you eye around the quilt so you see the whole thing. I am saving this entry for a future project. Really like it a lot.

sewmom 10-13-2010 01:36 PM

i like #2 best. i made one similar with the color bars with a print on a black background on the back and borders(kids quilt) i quilted it with black thread. i think verigated thread would be classy.

diane Sneed 10-13-2010 01:45 PM

I love #2. I quilted an amish round and I used variegated thread and it really made this round POP. It was really pretty. My friend [part of the round robin group] loved it. The thread really stands out on the black fabric. Go for it.

Quiltylady 10-13-2010 03:51 PM

I like the first one with squares straight set. It looks more artsy.

iltoaz 10-13-2010 04:04 PM

I like the second quilt. Please post pics and let us know what YOU decide.

beachlady 10-13-2010 04:17 PM

Don't know if you have made you decision yet....but I like #2. It will be beautiful either way.

I like them both but feel that more color in binding would spoil both of them. Black binding will finish both nicely, like a frame for your work.
Please leave on point squares. You have done a lovely job on both quilts. Well done.

Judith 10-13-2010 06:01 PM

Absolutely love the top one! I just finished making a top out of flannel just like yours, only I didn't think of adding the squares on the outer binding. I wish I had. Yours looks great! I don't think the pieced binding would be overkill. why not make just a few inches of it and try it to see what you think? then show us pictures again. I love what you did. Good job.
