Excuse the piecing, after I started cutting the strips I learned about starch. Some are "off", some are ok.

Anyway, I need thoughts on the outside border choice, either the greenish or the purplish.

babyfireo4 07-19-2011 06:24 PM

I'm a huge purple fan but, I really like the green as the boarder!

jmabby 07-19-2011 06:26 PM

I would piece the border, use strips of each.

auntpiggylpn 07-19-2011 06:26 PM

Purple is my favorite color but I was instantly drawn to the Green!!

Jazzz 07-19-2011 06:27 PM

I like the green too. The dark of the print enhances the quilt better than I think the purple does.

Treasureit 07-19-2011 06:29 PM

They both would work fine...I like the contrast of the small purple next to that green one.

jlong 07-19-2011 06:30 PM

I like the green.

Cyn 07-19-2011 06:30 PM

I liked the purple but the green is nice to.

debcavan 07-19-2011 06:30 PM

I don't see anything wrong with your strips. The quilt top is just wonderful

leatheflea 07-19-2011 06:30 PM

Green!

Leota 07-19-2011 06:31 PM

I like the green... it ties everything together

awww.thank you!! I'm reading along..purple, green, green, green and you like my strips =)

I like the greenish too but wondered if it was to much with the triangle/border. To me the purplish isn't enough contrast with the darker redish border.

blueangel 07-19-2011 06:34 PM

I like the green

boysmomoflabs 07-19-2011 06:35 PM

Thanks everyone!! You've confirmed what I was thinking. This means I need to go to the LQS again =), the green was supposed to be the back. *sigh*, guess I'll just have to buy something else......*giggles*

the green is better. the purple and the inner magenta border kind of moosh together

Sewfine 07-19-2011 06:35 PM

I like the green better.

cindyw 07-19-2011 06:36 PM

Green gets my vote. Beautiful quilt!

Jim's Gem 07-19-2011 06:36 PM

I'm gonna go against the flow and say purple!!!

That's exactly what I was thinking..."moosh", good description!!!

FERSID 07-19-2011 06:39 PM

I'm inclined to go with the purple - it looks livelier (sp?).

The green is nice but seeing as the background is this colour, to me having the border green I think is a little to much.

miss_ticky2 07-19-2011 06:40 PM

I like the green. I think it makes the small purple/pink inner border stand out. I love the quilt...it's beautiful

ccb2200 07-19-2011 06:44 PM

I really like the green. Love your quilt.

QuiltnNan 07-19-2011 06:44 PM

gaby4v 07-19-2011 06:44 PM

I like the green!!! Beautiful quilt!!

Dianemarie 07-19-2011 06:45 PM

I think the purple draws out more colors. Beautiful !

alikat110 07-19-2011 06:46 PM

My 2 favorite colors! Go with the green

4EVERquilt 07-19-2011 06:47 PM

I don't know, I like them both!!

That's just what I was trying to formulate....go green. Love your fabrics and design by the way.

kristen0112 07-19-2011 06:53 PM

I too like the green. If you have to go to the LQS for more fabric use that purple on the backing add a few strips to the green fabric a surprise on the backside of the quilt.

nance-ell 07-19-2011 06:53 PM

Love the quilt! Beautiful colors. I live the green for the border.

LeeAnn 07-19-2011 07:00 PM

Green pulls it all together. Pretty quilt.

boysmomoflabs 07-19-2011 07:01 PM

Green's ahead =)

nativetexan 07-19-2011 07:03 PM

green. maybe you can do binding in the purple. great, great quilt!!!

I think so too.

boysmomoflabs 07-19-2011 07:09 PM

Thanks everyone, I'll use the green for the boarder, keep the rest of that 2.5 yds and the purple 1.5 yds for my stash =D

Maybe a dark magenta "ish" for the backing.

boysmomoflabs 07-19-2011 07:09 PM

duplicate

suzee 07-19-2011 07:09 PM

Purple is my signature color, but in this instance, I'd use the green. It ties the whole thing together. And, i don't see anything wrong with your piecing either!

Granny Quilter 07-19-2011 07:11 PM

The green looks like it belongs there

rushdoggie 07-19-2011 07:12 PM

yeah, I like the green too...
