I would do a meader or stipple around the flowers and on the sashes and borders. It is gorgeous and your Mom will have flowers forever. Your Dad will not suffer. Perfect solution.

Your embroidered flowers are gorgeous! I think I would treat it like Hawaiian appliqué and outline stitch the flowers and then outline stitch every 1/2 inch to the sashing. The sashing I might do crosshatching to give the illusion of trellis?

I vote for echo quilting.. nothing on the flowers just around them

Agree with everyone that crosshatch would look nice. If you want the flowers to puff up then outline the flowers and do a pebbling, a small stipple or an echo. Please post again when you've finished.

I would try to fill in the white around the flowers with tendrils similar to the ones on the flower (green) with some curling to the right and others curling to the left.
Very pretty quilt...
