BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! I love it!
Wow, I am overwhelmed by all the wonderful comments! It gives me the incentive to tackle the rest of the blocks.
First I have to clean my house....I know why they are called string quilts now.....I have strings all over the house. My sewing room floor is really bad! Yes, my DH is wonderful. He doesn't complain about the long hours sewing or the mess all through the house. He is fine with a hamburger for supper and is always willing to rub my shoulders. :D |
If you want to watch the video & see instructions, just do a search on QAYG String Quilt.

Oh how pretty! I love it!
You sure did a nice job....or ARE doing a nice job. I realize you have some to go, but well worth all your work.
Ditter, it is lovely. What a nice compliment from your DH. Sounds like you are describing my DH.
How long did it take from start to finish? I love it and am wondering if I will live long enough to make one of them. Tee-Hee.....guess I will have to sacrifice some time I spend on the 'puter....
Your quilt is sensational. I love the beautiful back as well. It is a reversible quilt. You did a fabulous job...
Oh it is just gorgeous! Is this the one where the different colour backings didn't match up? Looks like you fixed if it is!
I have soooo got to learn how to do this! Beautiful job!!
I love how you did your string quilt. Great job!!
Looks beautiful!!
I love everything about this quilt! I love how you alternated dark and light blocks, and I love the lilght sashing. No wonder your hubby likes it so much! You'll be happy you went ahead and made the extra blocks to make it big enough!
I'm with your DH - in awe of your work. How pretty and so well put together!
That quilt is fantastic!

I like cocoa & teal/pink designs  |
Oh my, just beautiful.
I love it and the choice of colors for the back is pretty too. An excellent way to use up the "scraps" -- I'm inspired!
Holy Wow Ditter. that is gorgeous
How do you fasten the blocks together?
Very Nice! Both sides are equally pleasing to the eye!
You did a great job. How did you get the white space between blocks. Is that a narrow sashing? I love that it's reversible. Is this a quilt as you go, pattern?
Great looking.
Beautiful job!!!
That makes two of us who are awed!!! Gorgeous...
Oh wow! It's beautiful, both the front and the back. Good job!
 WOW!! Beautiful work.
I love it! It's really great. How did you calculate how much fabric to cut?
Beautiful.

Very nice - I love both sides! Its great when Hubby admires your work!
Beeeeeutiful!!!!!
Love your quilt !! I have made one and am saving scraps for another one. It is very pretty !!
Wow! You did a fabulous job, are you quilting as you go? The back looks great. The quilt looks complete so you must be quilting as you go if you are adding more blocks. Definitely worth the extra work to make it how you wanted it to look. I may have to make a string quilt too.
Love it...I want to do just string squares next time with a small sashing like that. I like you light and dark the way you put it too...
Super!!
