New avatar
I just finished a quilt I decided to use for my avatar. I was surprised how well aqua and lavender go together, and I really like my new quilt.

Wow, this is so precise and without a pattern? I'm impressed by your skills. Kudos to you!
|
Will you post a bigger picture of it? It is a very nice looking quilt from what I can see.

Sorry for the delay. I tried to upload a bigger picture last night, but all my tries failed. Seems it likes only the pictures I take with my Kodak camera. (Go figure.) I saw a picture of this quilt in one of the catalogs I get, but I can't find it now. It's really a fairly simple pattern. One block has the purple center square with the aqua and green corners. The other is a star block. I used the Tri-Recs tools to make the star points, and the corners are just 4 patches. To figure out how to the square in square centers of the stars, I used the "stitch & flip" method from Quiltmaker, using 2 1/2" green squares on the corners of a 4 1/2" purple square. The original quilt was set on-point, but I opted to make it a straight set with no borders. I measures about 48" X 60". Just the right size for me for watching TV in my recliner. |
This is just stunning and the colors are lovely. Very clever of you to figure this out. You sure do beautiful work. BrendaK

|
That it just beautiful! Do you have a closeup of the quilting?
|
Gorgeous quilt!

I found It! The quilt is called "Celestial Magic", by Jan Douglas. I saw it in the Autumn 2014 catalog from Keepsake Quilting, kit item #3946, pattern only item #7242. It bothered me that I couldn't give due credit to the designer. I fell in love with the pattern when I saw it. Probably because of the colors.

Beautiful quilt, colors & pattern!

Here's a close-up of the quilting, hope you can see them OK. I did them with my embroidery machine with designs from Embroidery Library called "Feather Quilting Designs." It was fun and not at all hard to do.
