New grandson = new Christmas stocking
2 Attachment(s)
My daughter, Emily, and her husband started their little family back in 2011. I made them Christmas stockings that year and saved some of each of the focus fabrics for any "additions." Simon came along this year and needed his own and so....I just finished the new one. After getting through the snowflake, I really didn't have the patience for more fussy stuff. Took the easy way out with strip piecing to finish. The hanging loop had to be pieced from scraps! I'm glad she considers the family complete! I've included a picture of the first three as well. Do they match enough? Merry Christmas!

Very cute and congratulations. I got two new grandsons in Sept. They weren't due until Nov so even though they started out small in the 3lb range they are now around 9lbs. That brought my totals up to 15 grandkids and 6 great grandkids and one on the way. I think grandkids are the greatest and they keep me trying so hard to remain healthy so that hopefully I'll be around long enough for them to remember me.
The colors are great and these will be great keepsakes over the years. |
They do match and look great. I did the same thing, saving some of the materials used. I still have some of that fabric saved, just in case, although no more g/children now as they are 14 and 11.

Those are adorable and will be treasured for years to come.
|
A perfect match! Congrats on the new grandbaby!

Wonderful stockings and real family treasures. It was very insightful of you to save some fabric for later family additions!

You did an excellent job on these stockings. Alike, but still different enough to be individual.
