Did you add the birds using broiderie purse method( applique the real picture. if so you did a good job,I like doing that too.

Yes that is what I did ( didn't know the fancy name ) added soft fuse on the back and cut them out ;) I just finished this last night so I am posting pictures. The person for whom comissioned it Loved it ;) but I really can't wait to hear how the recipient likes it in PA in the nursing home. I also finished the cardinal I had been working on.. and see a dozen things i would do differently now but I am on to the next project :)

I hand sewed some yellow beads on teh bird seed trays for a little more detail.

Did you also needle turn the edges so it looks like hand applique of just blanket stitch around each of the birds?
At a closer look, it looks like you machine sewed close to the edge of the birds.

No needle turn.. I used soft fuse.. on the back of the bird fabric then carefully cut them out.. and ironed on and stitched around with my machine and did a little paint stetching on the wings. ;)

Oh I so love your quilt. Have always wanted to do one of these. Did you applique the birds, etc. or did you use an embroidery machine?
