New Pockets A Plenty totes done

I think this is my new favorite pattern by Susan Marsh. It is a large, 13 1/2 x 15 1/2 x 4 1/2, with great big pockets and a small cell phone pocket outside, with lots of divided pockets inside. I added my key clip, tissue packet cover, and rigid bottom in a removable slip cover, but don't have them in yet. I love this pattern!! Sorry, but be prepared to see a few more in the not so distant future! I love coordinating different fabrics for them! A bit of a break from the jeans totes!

I have this pattern and cannot wait to try it. Yours are wonderful.

Vanuatu Jill 02-28-2013 01:35 PM

It is an easy pattern, especially if you have made bags before. I found it very similar to a Bow Tuck, except the front pockets. Give it a go!!

owlvamp 02-28-2013 01:36 PM

yes i really like that pattern and love your choices of fabric.

Great job!

GagaSmith 03-01-2013 10:37 AM

Very nicely done. Did you make the red, white and blue button on the first one? It really sets the bag off.

On the first one, the flower I attached to the flap of the pocket is from the same fabric as the pocket, and made by one of those Yo-Yo makers by Clover. It isn't a button, just decoration, and it is sewn on through the pocket to help keep the flap down. The sun button is gold-tone metal with crystals in the points, and a face in the middle. That is one of the buttons I got from Lotsofbuttons.com and I love it! It also is sewn on to help keep the flap down. In the brown one, the three yo-yo flowers (ovals) are also from another Clover yo-yo maker and I made them with coordinating fabrics. The brown flower button on the other flap is made of leather.

Love your bags and really like the front pockets.

MargeD 03-02-2013 07:42 AM

Love the pattern and your fabrics/color choices. I've been asked to make an overnight bag similar to the Bow Tucks bag,so maybe a little combination of both might be possible.

piepatch 03-02-2013 07:47 AM

Very nice bags! I like your choice of fabric and trims!

Think it is easy enough. My first purse was a Bow Tuck, and I didn't have trouble. This is similar in construction. As long as the is no zipper!! I did one purse with a zipper, and it came out nice, but they scare me!! You should be able to find it at most fabric/quilt shops. It is a Whistlepig Creek Design pattern called Pockets A Plenty. I bought mine at Joanns, I think

JudeWill 03-02-2013 08:11 AM
