I figured scrolling through the 9 pages of the other was a pain... so I'll start this one. I have 17/35 strips together--one strip shy of half way! I see movement!! :-D :-D :-D I'll post some of the photos from the start so progress can be followed. I hope to finish the top, but maybe not with borders, in the next few days.
I'm not feeling an addiction to this pattern just yet. :lol: The color choices [ATTACH=CONFIG]160979[/ATTACH] Strips together. Can you see the two I switched at the last minute? lol [ATTACH=CONFIG]160980[/ATTACH] Strips all cut up and labeled. 0.75" to 2.5" [ATTACH=CONFIG]160981[/ATTACH] Colors are charted and I'm ready to sew! [ATTACH=CONFIG]160982[/ATTACH] The first two rows--holy moly--thinking I should have gone for a double bed size!! [ATTACH=CONFIG]160983[/ATTACH] Four rows together--it's 3" wide and won't lay flat from all the thread! [ATTACH=CONFIG]160984[/ATTACH] One strip shy of half done! I see MOVEMENT! :-) [ATTACH=CONFIG]160986[/ATTACH] Another angle--kind of. It's now 17" wide. I love how strip #5 blends two sections. [ATTACH=CONFIG]160988[/ATTACH] |

Your quilt is going to be drop dead gorgeous. Fall colors are my favorite but I hate, hate, hate to select fabrics - - I am terrible at it. You did a wonderful job of fabric/color selection. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Mesmerizing. The top of the ribbon looks like glass. I love it and have enjoyed the photos as you are working on it. Your fabric choices are excellent.

I bought 4 same sets of 2 1/2" strips from Connecting threads when they had a good sale on them. Had no idea what I was going to make with them at the time but then thought I'd like to do a bargello. I bought this same pattern from the quilt store. But because the strips I bought are all solid, I'm not sure it will work for this pattern. So I've ordered another bargello book that I hope my strips will work for.
Where can I find the "beginning" post on you lovely quilt? Maybe it will give me some inspiration to buy more fabric for a quilt for the pattern. |
Very pretty. Can't wait to see it finished. I have a pattern but haven't got up the nerve to start it yet.

Your quilt is going to be so awesome! What size will it be when finished? The pattern says it'll be 41 x 55, but that's with three borders... I'm not sure if that's what I'll do. Border decisions will require much pondering I'm afraid. :roll: |

Wow, I'm speechless. Looking in order at your pictures I couldn't even imagine how it was going to look, and then moving down to see your piece partially done I fell in love with it. Your colors are just beauitful. I wish I had your eye for color.
