New quilt for me!!!
1 Attachment(s)
I decided to make a new quilt for me! I have been collecting fabrics for a long time to get just the right colors. Then I found the background fabric and it all came together, I have enough fat quarters for 2 quilts after I got done collecting and sorting them LOL. The name of the pattern is Emily's Wedding Quilt by Liz Porter. It is huge measuring 115 X 115 inches. It was challenging an fun. I am happy with the way it turned out. My hubby held it for the picture and apologizes for his short 'wing span' but you can get the idea.

Your quilt is so beautiful, Mary! I admire your courage to tackle one that big.
I was just thinking about you the other day as I looked at the round you made on my Round Robin quilt… all the sweet children holding hands. |
Wow, that is BIG! Did you quilt that yourself? Makes my wrists hurt just looking at it.
All that being said, what a beautiful quilt it turned out to be. |
Gorgeous quilt.
That is wonderful. Love the colors you chose

Nice work and very pretty! Enjoy your new quilt. I bet hubby is proud and beaming behind that quilt.
great job! I love hearing quilters making quilts for themselves. Enjoy this one, you deserve it!
Just a beautiful quilt! You will enjoy it every day, I'm sure.
That's such a beautiful pattern, and you worked wonders with it!
Very pretty Mary! I'm glad you made something for you
As everyone has already said, beautiful quilt, and great fabric choices!
Love your beautiful quilt. I made Emily’s wedding quilt the year Liz created the pattern for her daughter. Wow that was a long time ago. I made mine in 1940 reproduction fabric for my friend. I thought I had a picture but can’t find it. Oh and hers was a king size bed quilt too.
That is beautiful!
My goodness, what a big beautiful quilt!
I love the border fabric. I chuckled when you said you had fat quarters left over because that is how I ended up with so much fabric scraps and fat quarters. I have been quilting for 40 years and I can't remember how items I have quilted. I would buy the required amount of fabric, make a sample block and realize that 1 or 2 of the fabrics just didn't work, so back to the fabric store for more fabric.
Good for you, that quilt is really cool and not a simple pattern either.
Fabulous! The colors you chose are so soothing. Beautifully done.
Gorgeous quilt and loving the color pallet!
Boy is that pretty! I’d keep it for my bed also. Just love it. Is that a Bonnie Hunter pattern?
A lovely quilt. We quilters should have a few quilts just for us. And we know and appreciate the work done for it.
