New Quilter here, I wanted to share my first 3 quilts I finished

This quilt is a 9 patch, WOW this was a lot of work. I did it the hard way and cut out all of the 2.5 inch squares before sewing.
This was a fun hour glass block, used a short cut and it turned out great.
for my niece, simple squares and rectangles.

I learned ALOT with these first 3 quilts, I have also finished another one and was happy with the whole process from start to finish. Still have tons to learn!! Thanks for letting me share.

Your quilts are super! Some of us started quilting when templates and scissors were common tools. What a time saver rotary cutters and rulers have been! Great job!

Thanks everyone for the great feedback. Now to wait and see what the niece and nephews think when they open them christmas morning. Or, better yet the feedback form my sisters.

lfstamper 12-22-2011 12:04 PM

Very nice job!

Mad Mimm 12-22-2011 12:05 PM

I agree with the others, you are off to a wonderful start as a quilter. Looks to me like you have a good eye for color and fabric selection - can't wait to see what you do next! Great work!

Raggiemom 12-22-2011 12:05 PM

Great looking quilts and welcome to the board.

Quiltaddict 12-22-2011 01:30 PM

I love your quilts, especially the nine patch. Using the large polka dot fabric was genius. It really pops. I would never have thought of that but I will definitely remember it for a future quilt. Thanks.

littlesurfer 12-22-2011 01:51 PM

These look great. What is next on the agenda?

JEL523 12-22-2011 06:20 PM

Great job. I think the thing with quilting is you always have room to learn and improve - at least I sure do - no matter how long you have been at it.

traveler53 12-22-2011 06:51 PM

You did a great job. I like the mitred corners on the border of the first quilt. I still have problems with my mitres and I have been quilting for eight years!!

QuiltMom2 12-23-2011 04:20 AM

Are you sure you're a beginner? With that good of a color sense maybe you've quilted in a previous life!! Beautiful and thanks for sharing.

Jackie Spencer 12-23-2011 04:51 AM
