A new star
1 Attachment(s)
I did this block for the #15 Mystery Quilt train ride in October 2016, some of you may remember it, it was a 3 day mystery, and is an old pattern, another name for it is Christmas Star.
I had planned on 12 blocks, but when I got them done, finally, it was "not me". LOL So to make it a bit less boring, but certainly not less crazy, I used 12.5" blocks. And now I have 6 more stars to put with a different piece of crazy fabric. I remember a lot of you participate in my little whirlwind block, did anyone make anything bigger with it? |
I don't recall seeing this but I like it a lot. Good job!

I love this pattern and have searched to see if I can find it and am not having any luck. Is there a link for the pattern?

Hi Paintmejudy...I really like your quilt and the New Star block. Your print looks lovely between the star blocks.
Our guild has an upcoming Christmas block exchange. The block has to be 12.5" Can you please tell me where the info is to make the Christmas Star block? Thank you so much for posting the photo of your quilt top. |
I remember the star, but I did not make it, although the directions have been saved. Your little quilt looks good, as always.
|
I made several of these after your mystery train, but for the Boom swap. So no finished projects w/ them
|
Love that block!
Here is the Train Ride thread that teaches that block: https://www.quiltingboard.com/blocks...e-t283020.html It's in three "clues". Clue one is the first post of the thread, clue two is post # 50, and clue three is post #111. Lots of chit chat and some photos in between! |
I like it - nice work!

Like your stars and the way you put it together.

I also saved a tutorial years ago called RIBBON STAR. You can find it here:

Those look great in that setting. I made one of the blocks, Judy, and that’s as far as I got. Do love it, though!

YEA! I love this block! I think it would be great in Christmas fabrics, not that I have any of those!
Thanks for giving me such a beauty for my "To do" list. |
Judy, I love that star and your quilt top. I will save the site and try that soon. It would make a cute Christmas topper.
Thank you for sharing it. |
