So you're the one who needs one for a fish bowl sized wine glass? :D

Your wine glass coasters and twists, especially the potholder are awesome. I am a beginner quilter, and need a pattern for everything I do. Do you have a pattern, or know of any tutorials on how to make these? I looked on this board, but could not find any. Thank you.

Sorry ... I don't have a pattern, I just look and make!
Here's somewhat of a pattern which I think you can understand. If not, ask questions.

... Wine Glass Coasters ...
Cut five 4-1/2" squares (one for your backing, and four for the lattice; colours and # fabrics as you wish).
Fold and press the four lattice pieces in half.
Lay the folded strips creating a lattice onto the right side of the backing square.
Pin in place.
Stitch fully around.
Turn inside out.

* I have glasses that will not fit inside, so check first. If it's for yourself, you can custom-size, just by changing the square size.

* If I were making them again, I would add a little batting or flannelette for a bit of absorption, to catch those little spills and drips

... Pot Holders ...
Sandwich an orphan block (or just a piece of material) with thermal insulation and a backing fabric.
Quilt it (or you could do strip piecing, using scraps!)
Trim to size.
Cut four squares for the lattice, the same size as the trimmed "quilt".
Fold in half and press.
Layer and Lattice those strips to the backing of your quilted piece.
Pin in place.
Stitch all the way around with less than a 1/4" seam (so binding can hide the stitching).
Bind the edge as you would a quilt. (too much bulk to turn inside out, like the coasters)

* This one started with 11" squares. Change the size for what you'd like.
* Smaller ones are fine for just pot holders. This one will be multi-purpose as pot holder, and then setting hot bowls/casserolees on at the table.

Hope this helps!!!!!

And hope you will post your creations back to this thread, for all to see and be inspired.
