I've just finished my latest quilt! The size of the quilt is 40"x50". As a batting I've used a bamboo/cotton blend and it's quilted by hand.

Amazing.....how perfect are your stitches!! I love to hand quilt, but mine sure doesn't look like that!!! I don't know if I'll EVER get as good as you are!!! Beautiful.

DH just walked by and asked why my mouth was hanging open; I showed him your quilt and he understood my feeling. I am in awe-just beautiful. Please keep posting pics-I am inspired to try harder and continue hand quilting.

Andrea, as with all your quilts that you have shown us, this is simply stunning. How did you find the bamboo cotton batting? Was it easy to needle and are you satisfied with the end result? Would you use it again?

The batting needles easy, almost like a thin cotton batting and the look is also very similar, quite flat. But I like it that way! The batting is very fluffy and soft and it's wonderful to touch - but I think it's better not to use with dark fabrics. It's not bearding - but the fibres of the outer edges which are not covered by the fabric are distributed over the whole quilt. They are easy to brush of after finishing the quilt. I would use it again - but only with light colored fabrics. |
