New York Roundabout
1 Attachment(s)
Whew! And here I thought that I would spend this weekend making the New York Roundabout kit that I had ordered. Now it's Sunday evening and I'm only half-way through piecing it together. My back is killing me and I'm totally beat!
While it isn't as good as I had hoped, at least most of my seams meet like they are supposed to - here is what I've gotten done so far. The wallhanging is from a kit that I purchased, but I don't even remember where I got it because I've waited so long to attempt piecing it together. It's a paper-piece creation done on foundation fabric. Thanks for looking! |
Love those colors together. Never tried pp but sure do like yours.
Love it, can't wait ro see it dne.

Take as long as you need.. there is no penalty for taking an extra week.
That is gorgeous!

Your blocks are looking great! I am starting a quilt along for New York Beauty it's going to be a blast to see what everyone makes!
You do beautiful work, I am very impressed.
I bought the same kit this summer at City Quilter in NY, it is also available online, http://secure.netsolhost.com/191487....gory_Code=K1QK My blocks are not matching up near as well as yours. |
WOW! There's a lot of paper piecing and stitching there! You've done a great job of matching seams. I think you've accomplished quite a bit this weekend. Congratulations! :)
It's beautiful! Can't wait to see it finished!

It is beautiful and sooooooooo complicated!
It is coming along beautifully!!! Don't stress over getting it done in one weekend. That is a very hard pattern to do, and you are doing great so far. Hope your back feels better.

It's gorgeous! It incorporates 2 of my favorite things: New York Beauty and batiks! Of course I had to google it and found that Mary Maxim sells a kit. http://www.marymaxim.com/new-york-ro...quilt-kit.html

That is awsome. Looks like a lot of work. Great job.
That is really beautiful. You'll never remember the aching back once it's finished and up on the wall! Keep going.

Have a Blessed day Ellen |
It's looking great!!! You've done a great job on the pp:) The colors are really pretty. Keep us posted.
Sure looks lovely.
WOW Gorgeous so far! Great job.
Congratulations for attempting this beauty and for such a wonderful start. Keep at it..it
Looks like a show stopper to me! |
What you have done so far is awesome. I, however, don't see what you mean by "some of the seams meet". It looks wonderful to me. Stop berating yourself for not being further along and "seams that don't match". This is a complicated piece and you've done wonderfully with it.
Lovely blocks so far! You are doing a super job! Love those Fossil Fern fabrics too! :)
Beautiful!!! I'm a fan of Benartex's Fossil Fern fabrics.
That is gorgeous and Elise is right. Your work is outstanding. I can't wait to see it finished.
Good job! I can't wait to see it finished too!
New York Beauty blocks take longer to make than you'd think. However they always look so gorgeous when you've got them together. This is a type of block I make over and over. You can make up your own blocks too and they look just as good as the ones that came in your kit. Try using freezer paper as your foundation next time. You don't need to rip the paper off inbetween all those little spaces, like you do with a regular paper foundation. The whole pattern stays on until the block is finished, then just pull it off.
Wow you used two of my favorite things... fossil fern prints and NY beauty!! Wonderful how they came out!
