Okay everyone,
I am sure if you look closely you can find all my boo-boos. Some of the squares arent perfect, some of the rows are a bit crooked, and of course it could use more quilting.
But let me tell you I am dang proud.......this is called Saddle Tramps and since we raise Appaloosas, and consider ourselves saddle tramps, it seemed perfect.
It was the first time I used a rotary cutter, first time I tried a quilt out of a pattern, and the first time I made something for "us".
My sweetheart loves it and he is sooooo supportive....

pattis47 12-05-2010 09:26 PM

Congratulations on quilting something for you. You may be new, but you have accomplished something many of us havent been able to do for years. Seems like every time I think "this on is for me" someone else comes along and "needs" it more than I do. Just keep stitching and enjoying your hobby, that is the important part. As for the boo-boos, someone once said, "If you can see it from a racing horse, stop, and redo it...otherwise just keep going" or something like that.

Great job ... what do you plan next?

sewbizgirl 12-06-2010 07:19 AM

Great first quilt! Very Western! You chose a good name for it.

sewlilly 12-06-2010 07:25 AM

Great job! My first quilt was in desperation to find something to go with my not so normal bedroom. I finished it probably 2 years ago and a beast was created! To give you a hint I was looking for a piece of fabric to go with my one of my current projects and my husband came in. As he's looking at the plastic boxes surrounding me that came out from under the bed he asked the most ridiculious question. Is all that fabric??? Well of course I reassured him and said well of course not... Got to love it - The other night as I laid there in bed not sleeping I looked at my first effort at quilting and the thing that has hooked me, and I still absolutely love it even with all it's imperfections.

Donna P 12-06-2010 07:28 AM

Looks great....better then my first quilt.....I love the pattern too

AnneT 12-06-2010 07:49 AM

Congrats on a wonderful job, you did great! Your quilt is much fancier than my first quilt, a VERY simple one with just plain 8 " squares.
 Did I really tell this here  ?
Way to go, we want to see more  .
