Well, if I were judging you may well have gotten a first place on this one or even grand champ. It sure is pretty!!!

I would give you a ribbon. I think it is beautiful, and all the work you put into it. Thanks for sharing.

Forget the judges...

That's a pretty quilt. I have lots of "purple-happy" friends who would strip that off the wall & take off with it. :)

Wow, that is awesome. You sure deserved a ribbon.

The standard of quilts must have been very high if yours did not win a prize. I love your quilt. Purple is a colour that I am finding myself more drawn to as time goes by. Where did you get the pattern. - great pattern.

Some quilt shows are popularity contests. If you have a lot of friends invite them to vote for you. Yes people do that. One quilt in our show last year was terribly pieced, most of the quilting didn't go through the batting and backing, and the binding was crooked! Well her church friends were there and voted for her and quess what she won a blue ribbon and someone who has been quilting for 40 yrs and sells her quilts at keepsake quilting got zippo. This year I will not enter anything in the quilt show after last years fiasco.

I'm glad you did ~ I love everything about it. It is a true work of art, love the color, the pattern, the fabrics, everything... Awesome job :)

It's an old standard called Spider Web. You make a strata out of strips of fabric, cut wedges, sew eight to make a block, and then add the corners. On mine, all the corners and binding are the same purple.
