Our nephew and his wife are market gardeners and are expecting their first child in December. This is the quilt I gave them for their shower this past weekend. I sure hope they weren't expecting something in "baby" colours.

Lovely quilt! I've been collecting fabrics for something along the same lines.
That is so cute! The baby will have a fun activity along with the warmth and coziness! Cool!
I love it!!!
I've been thinking about making one like this for my son and his wife. They both love to cook using fresh veggies and fruits.
oh how fitting, very pretty as well.
That's awesome MamaBear! Love all the food prints!
Beautiful! Much more "visually stimulating" than pastels! I'm sure they will love it!
(One of the first few baby quilts I made, about 30 yrs ago, for a mathematician and a physicist, was an Escher design. The parents still have the quilt on the back of their sofa. Maybe your market gardeners will hang this on the wall when the baby outgorws the crib!) |
So cute! Very nice job!
the contrasts and colors in this quilt will catch baby's eye and s/he will spend lots of time Looking and Reaching. Pastel quilts are looked at more by parents & visitors. lol
You took the time to personalize the quilt for this special family. Really cute quilt!!
Very cute, and how appropriate!!! I am sure they are loving it. Traditional gets boring sometimes.
Not your "garden variety " baby quilt!! I think it is CUTER!
That should keep the baby busy for quite some time, and is so appropriate for any gardeners baby. Love it!!! |
What a cool quilt and perfect for them. Great job and thanks for sharing. What a lucky baby.

Love the theme - and there's no time like immediately to get kids thinking about vegetables as fun. Plus, it makes a great I-Spy playmat and color identification activity too :)
