I like it. You did a nice job. I haven't done flannel either. I'm a lap quilter to. Do you use a hoop at all? I just can't get used to it. My son built me a really nice frame, I might try it for tying. Once again great quilt :D

Ruthie....no I haven't tried a hoop. This seems to work OK for me, so haven't tried anything else. Although I sure would like to know how to make the tiny stitches that my Grandmother made

Quilter bunny. It takes practice, practice, and more practice. I should talk. I can on an average day do 6 stitches to an inch. Sometimes 7 or 8 but not much. I've seen some with 10 and more. Oh but to have the nimble fingers of youth. Where's my aleve?

I love your quilt....is it a pattern or did you just come up with the design?
I would like to do something like that for my son.
Beautiful work.
Penny

Hi Penny.....it is a pattern, although I didn't make it quite as large. I don't have it with me as we are south for the winter but I believe it is a Moda design and I think it is called Northern Shores. If you can't find it, email me at [email protected] and I will look at it and let you know when I get home mid-April.

Thanks for the information. Actually, I think I found the pattern on ebay.
Your work is very nice. So neat. It is a beautiful quilt.

I did a baby quilt in a circus theme. I used all flannel for top and back and it really looked great, even if I say so myself. I got all the patterns from the about quilting web site when Susan Druding was the hostess. I used the tent block as the focal point and had it about twice as big as the other blocks. I sent her a picture to let her know how much I enjoyed her patterns and to show her how it came out. She later asked my permission to post it on the web. Boy was I totally surprised! For the label I used a smaller version of the tent and wrote with a fabric marker. on it and then attached it to the back of the quilt.
Flannels are a joy to work with--so soft!

Vicki - your baby quilt sounds great! By the way, is that a picture of your home? What a wonderful setting!! :)

Right now I call it our retirement home to be. I will retire in 2 years and we'll move there permanently then. Until then, it our mtn retreat. You can feel the tension just slipping away up there and you really hate to get back to the rat race. :D
