Wow, oh my gosh, WOW

That will be a beautiful quilt! Curved piecing requires accurate cutting and an accurate 1/4 seam - then it goes together beautifully. Keep posting those pictures!

Awesome. Two new techniques to add to your "I can do" list!
peace

Great blocks, great job, and welcome to the world of paper piecing. I know you will love it, the more you do the more fun it becomes

You're doing a fantastic job - sometimes the best way is to just jump right in and you'll be surprised how well you do.

woodyandjake 05-05-2013 10:09 AM

I love it, great colors

BuzzinBumble 05-05-2013 10:20 AM

It's a beautiful block! You should be very proud! Now if I could only get as brave as you.

tessagin 05-05-2013 11:25 AM

Added this to my favorites. Thanks for the link. This is going to be gorgeous when you're finished. Anxious for those photos.

Looks like you are coming right along. Should be a very nice quilt soon.

I too just joined the "diver's club" and jumped in and managed an 18" block with curved piecing on the four corners. I was amazed at the ease of sewing the round to the curve. I did have a picture in my mind of someone's instructions that said "be sure and put a pin at each end and one in the middle and you will have no trouble".

That's beautiful! But it makes me MORE afraid of curved piecing!

I took a class a my Guild making NY Beauty and fell in love with it, too!!! I'm collecting all colors in batiks now to make one. I did download the patterns in October when the QB had it's tutorial.

Sallyflymi 05-06-2013 08:05 AM

Well done. Beautiful colors and work.

I love New York Beauty style blocks. They are a mix and match kind of design. Even if you use the same sections but in different fabrics, they'll all look different. Awesome! Plus they are a great way to use up scraps.

Sewbeeit2 05-06-2013 09:57 AM

Just awesome.....love the site and ideas..keep up the beautiful blocks....

richardswife 05-06-2013 10:02 AM

Very pretty. Curves are not as complicated as they look and yours look very nice.

cowgirlquilter 05-06-2013 10:29 AM

krissr 05-06-2013 11:20 AM

Teddybear Lady 05-06-2013 11:28 AM

I've bookmarked this site. Thank you for sharing. It looks like you're off to a good start. I printed out the beginner block in case I get brave enough to try it. LOL

quilt-n-girl 05-06-2013 11:31 AM

Your block is absolutely gorgeous, the colors just pop out at you. I bought a book last week on pp, and I looked at it last night again, and I thought to my self "What was I thinking?" I don't think I can do that, I guess you are right, just jump in and give it a try. We don't know what we are capable of until we try.Thank you for sharing with us.

What a stunner! Love the fabrics and your venture into curved piecing is clearly a big success! congrats!!!

Shazeeda 05-06-2013 05:47 PM

A great big "thank you!" for all the compliments and encouragement.

I started a thread in Links & Resources with free curved piecing patterns for anyone wanting to have a go.

Learning Curved Piecing

My plan was to start out with gentler curves and work my way up to a New York Beauty block - so much for that ;)

mighty 05-07-2013 07:37 AM

Rosebird 05-10-2013 09:11 AM
