Not a Jeweled Forest
5 Attachment(s)
I've been admiring all the Jeweled Forest trees here, but couldn't get the pattern, so... I decided to make my own forest. These blocks are my very own "Ponderosa Forest". I drew the pattern and started experimenting. Each tree panel is about 12 x 20 and I plan to put a border on each one and make wall hangings out of them. I've got some gold metalic thread to do some FMQ on them too. I'll post some more pictures when I get them done, but here they are for now.
This was my first try at paper piecing and I tried using Golden Threads paper and stitching through it, and also did some using freezer paper and folding it to stitch along the fold. For this project, I like the freezer paper method best. |

Wendy!
The old saying "Necessity is the mother of invention" certainly applies to your tenacity in creating your own pattern! Who knows this may have opened a new 'career' for you creating patterns! I'd certainly buy this pattern from you and a lot of people were looking for the Jeweled Forest pattern :0) Great job, lady! |

These are beautiful. OK, I want to know FMQ: what is the F for? I know the MQ it machine quilting. Like a teacher used to say, "If you don't know the answer, there are probably others out there who don't know it either."
Thanks, Kathy |

Thanks, Kathy Here are a couple of links to threads that explain a lot of the acronyms you'll see on the QB (Quilting Board). http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...s-t162596.html http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...rs-t84708.html |
