My eye is about as trained as the person you're gifting it to - and I looked and looked and couldn't see anything but a beautiful quilt.

gaigai 02-10-2010 03:32 PM

It took me a good long while, just like the rest of us. And remember, we were looking for it. If the person you're giving it too isn't a quilter, they won't even notice it, as long as you can keep quiet!!

Marcia 02-10-2010 03:33 PM

I looked and looked and finally found it. I WOULD NOT take it apart and redo it (and I am almost a perfectionist). It is not noticeable and is one of those things that people would only see if you pointed it out.

Your quilt is great---finish it and give it with pride.

paintedquilt 02-10-2010 03:44 PM

My eyes where crossing trying to find it and I gave up looking. Really nice quilt though

Ok, I must be doomed as a quilter - I still cannot find it. I say, if she finds it, she is obviously scrutinizing it and looking for a fault - and thereby unworthy of your gorgeous and generous work. But I doubt she's anything like that - so gift it and feel good!

n2scraplvr 02-10-2010 05:00 PM

I gave up trying to find it. I doubt the recipient will even know about it, much less look for it. Let it become your signature quilt. It'll bring more money one day because of your error, once you become famous! :D

Rachelcb80 02-10-2010 05:26 PM

Okay, I guess I'm just not getting how the pattern is supposed to be. In the 4th row over from the right, all three yellow block blocks are facing the same way. It looks like it's supposed to be like that.

Whatever about it is incorrect, I would not change it. I'm not a big re-doer though. I hate a mistake, but not enough to fix it. :) It looks great to me and it will be a very well loved gift I'm sure.

patty48 02-10-2010 05:34 PM

Sorry, I can't see it right off the bat and I'm too lazy to even try to find it....so I won't bother taking it out.

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 02-10-2010 05:37 PM

Leave it.

bopeep 02-10-2010 05:48 PM

I can not see it either....
Where IS it ?????
bopeep

Dora Taggart 02-10-2010 06:03 PM

I must be doomed also, even after somone told us where it is.....I DONT SEE IT.....

Rachel 02-10-2010 06:08 PM

I had to follow row by row to see it. Leave it in. Most people we give quilts to, don't inspect them the same way us quilters do. Looks awesome. I'm sure she'll love it, very thoughtful of you.

earthwalker 02-10-2010 06:09 PM

If you are going to lose sleep or fret...fix it. If not leave it, it is so very busy and bright it is difficult to spot. I love it!

Rachel 02-10-2010 06:11 PM

Ok, I thought I saw the mistake, went back, looked again, no... that was actually correct... really really had to look to find it. definately leave it as it is...

nursie76 02-10-2010 06:13 PM

I truthfully had to search for a long time to find it. Personally, I wouldn't fix it. I really don't think the recipient would even think to look because she will be so excited and pleased to get it. Beside, you meant it to be that way didn't you??? lol

Dora Taggart 02-10-2010 06:17 PM

I Got it I think yall look and see

From the top left:

Row 1 Blk 5
Row 3 Blk 5
Row 5 Blk 5

These 3 Blks need to be turned one click counterclock wise..

MadQuilter 02-10-2010 06:29 PM

Still not sure where - so I would not worry about it. Very pretty colors an nicely done!

Pam G 02-10-2010 06:48 PM

Oh My Gosh that was hard to find, took me a few times to find it. I would leave it and call it a surprise.

BKinCO 02-10-2010 07:20 PM

Well I guess if that many people can't find my mistake then I'm good to go :) Good ! I didn't want to tear it out anyway...for whatever reason those yellow blocks were very nearly the end of me!! Thanks everyone!!!

ScrapQuilter 02-10-2010 07:30 PM

If the quilt police haven't knocked on your door by now
they aren't coming and I would leave it.
If the person you give it to can find it without you telling her there is a mistake WELL then send it to my address.
I still don't see the mistake.....

LucyInTheSky 02-10-2010 07:37 PM

It took me 3 thorough looks to find it. I was starting to get annoyed because I couldn't. And I can spot a spelling error from a mile away ;). It's fine

Quilt police????
Don't worry, if they come for ya, we will bail ya out.

As for the quilt, it looks great don't change it. And don't tell them there is a block out of place, adds to its uniqueness.

zkosh 02-10-2010 07:45 PM

Leave it! It looks great just as it is.

LucyInTheSky 02-10-2010 07:50 PM

No, I thought I found it but didn't. Boyfriend couldn't either. Could someone please circle it on the picture?? It's bugging me (I'm one of those kids who would spend hours doing the Where's Waldo since I HAD to find him). Please help!

Is it going to bother you? If so, re-do it. If not, let it go! :)

I agree with Charlee.

butterflywing 02-10-2010 10:10 PM

if 10 people say you're dead, lay down.

if we can't see it, no one will.

Boxer mom 02-10-2010 10:14 PM

No and No, it is fine, looks good.

ScubaK 02-10-2010 11:08 PM

redo it
k

Gramof6 02-10-2010 11:24 PM

I love it & NO I would not change it. I have looked and looked and still cannot find a mistake. I think it looks just great.

Katrine 02-11-2010 01:39 AM

took a while to spot it, so temptation is leave it. But I've done this myself and realised that although people probably won't spot the misplacement, it bugs me, so I redo it.

poldiceann 02-11-2010 01:49 AM

If it bothers you take it to pieces, but it took me a while to find.

Lizzydripping 02-11-2010 02:01 AM

Took me a while to see it. But if it bothers you, I would redo it

ConnieF 02-11-2010 03:36 AM

with it being in the middle , you plannd it right....
I always do a fab upside down on purpose, It is not that easy to see, I wouldn't change a thing. It looks great.

Teresa 54 02-11-2010 05:22 AM

she will never see it. It took me about two min. going row to row, verticle then horizontal till I found the reversed block.
I vote to keep as it is and move on.
Teresa

jewelps 02-11-2010 05:29 AM

i found it but it took a while to find, i think it looks fine, i would leave it

stitchin 02-11-2010 05:55 AM

It’s called a design opportunity!

Jingle 02-11-2010 06:09 AM

Like my Daughter tells me - "you won't be able to see it from here". I would send it on, I couldn't find it. If it bothers you change it, if not finish it up.

dannypanny 02-11-2010 07:05 AM

OK I give up... someone take me out of my misery.... and remember nothing is perfect!!!! Your quilt is a labour of love... have a great day. ciao

themeemama 02-11-2010 07:21 AM

Tell the new owner it's an 'I Spy' quilt :)
