I get this all put together and realize one set of blocks is facing the wrong way.......is it obvious enough to tear out and re-do? It is going to be a gift, but I very seriously doubt the mother knows anything about quilting...... Tell me now before it's too late :)

Charlee 02-10-2010 01:08 PM

If I was going to sit and study it, I'd probably find it. As it is, I don't see it.

Is it going to bother you? If so, re-do it. If not, let it go! :)

Marjpf 02-10-2010 01:09 PM

Took me a bit to spot it so I don't think it's too bad, especially if the person you are giving it to doesn't sew.

Jim's Gem 02-10-2010 01:13 PM

It took me a moment too. Its up to you. If is will bother you knowing about it, take it out and redo.

I agree! Hehehe, I can't find it either. Looks very pretty!

trolley station 02-10-2010 01:14 PM

BKinCo....Don't worry about it. First, the quilt is so busy it isn't obvious. Second, a busy mother of a baby isn't going to have time to make sure everything is perfect. Also, did you know that the Amish usually incorrectly put in a block intentionally because in their belief, no one is perfect except the Good Lord. Bind it up and give it to the mom-to-be and don't give it another thought. Lois

MissTreated 02-10-2010 01:15 PM

If you're going to have to look at it, it'll bug you forever. Take it out... :(

ranger 02-10-2010 01:18 PM

It took me a while to find it. I'd let it go. If it's not noticed, well and good. If it is noticed it will make a conversation tidbit and maybe become a game where others try to find it. So it's good either way.

Debo 02-10-2010 01:20 PM

I can't even find it!! She'll never notice. I made a quilt with an appliqued butterfly in each square. To my surprise, several weeks after it was finished, I noticed I had one of the butterflies upside down! So yours looks great.

mamabird3 02-10-2010 01:27 PM

Jeez that took me FOREVER to find!!!

beachlady 02-10-2010 01:27 PM

I gave up looking for the mistake.

littlehud 02-10-2010 01:28 PM

I can't see it so I bet she can't either. I would finish it as is. I like your quilt.

thequilteddove 02-10-2010 01:31 PM

I figured out which one it was, but it took me a while to find it lol

Oklahoma Suzie 02-10-2010 01:32 PM

I couldn't find it.

sewsewquilter 02-10-2010 01:37 PM

If you haven't told me to look for it I would not have found it. It took me a few times looking it to find it. LOL Don't worry about it. :-)

sunkistmi 02-10-2010 01:37 PM

I'm glad I'm not the only one that can't find the mistake. The think the person it is made for will be so pleased that they will not even notice if they can even find it. Quilts are a gift from the heart. It looks perfect to me and she should feel very special to get such a gift.

karielt 02-10-2010 01:43 PM

wow nothing like a good hidden picture... It took me a while. I think only you will notice it. I know it would bug me to let it go but if its to much work to unpick then I say let it go she will never notice it if she doesn't sew.

MamaBear61 02-10-2010 01:51 PM

Took me two tries even though you told me what to look for.

thismomquilts 02-10-2010 01:53 PM

Took too long to spot it to know it's there - - -

belmer 02-10-2010 01:54 PM

It took me a while, but I have to be honest, I can't find it.
Don't be so hard on yourself, just go with it, it looks Great.

wvdek 02-10-2010 02:04 PM

Usually I would say change it if it bothers you. In this case, the quilt is busy enough I have spent the last 10 minutes looking for it and still can't find it. Leave it be.

Lillie 02-10-2010 02:05 PM

With all the color and once bind it will not be notice. I do understand when we do these kind of things what it makes us feel like. Who ever receives it will love it and its your take on a new twist of your own. If we always copied a pattern how would we come up with new ones. God Bless

soniboo 02-10-2010 02:32 PM

It took forever to find and it's not obvious so I think it's fine. It's nice to have a "unique" quilt top that's different and not the norm and she'll love it. :)

karielt 02-10-2010 02:34 PM

Just FYI Amish quilts have a mistake in every one of them because there belief is God is only perfect. So it gives the quilt character

Ditter43 02-10-2010 02:39 PM

Okay...is this a test?..hummmmmm...well.....uhhhh.....hmmm.
I give up!!

RatherB Quilting 02-10-2010 02:42 PM

I totally can't find it! I usually always end up with something amiss in my quilts. I have a mariners compass that I did last year and framed up. It hangs above my TV. Only a couple weeks ago did I notice there is one section that is backwards. I think it is funny now! It's such a bright and colorful quilt, Momma and Baby are going to love it no matter what! Just don't mention it to Mom and she won't ever know!

NauDeeGal 02-10-2010 02:44 PM

Your quilt top looks great!

IMHO....I would leave it, quilt it, and gift it!

I am sure the mom and baby will not notice! What they will notice is that someone made the baby a nice warm, loving gift....a baby quilt!

DeeDee

farscapegal 02-10-2010 02:44 PM

I would take it out, especially if I was going to give it as a gift.

Sybil

redrummy 02-10-2010 02:45 PM

I like it the way it is. That is easier to admit than I can't find anything wrong. So I'd leave it.

quazyquilter 02-10-2010 02:46 PM

Okay, I give up...where is it????

jljack 02-10-2010 02:49 PM

Don't worry about it.....if it takes us a long time to find it, they probably never will!! And if they do, they probably wouldn't care.

Actually, that bit about the Amish is an old wive's tale. The Amish would never be so proud as to think they would have to intentionally put in a mistake, implying that their quilts were perfect. That is very contrary to their beliefs. I heard this from the horse's mouth....a wonderful Amish-raised lady who is now my DD's MIL.

Esqmommy 02-10-2010 02:55 PM

I can't find it...so, looks great to me!! Very cute quilt too! Now I'll go thru the rest of the pages and see if anyone points it out...help me out a bit!

Esqmommy 02-10-2010 02:57 PM

Okay, now I gotta know. For those of you who found it..what it is it? It's driving me batty!!

barnbum 02-10-2010 03:03 PM

No one will ever see it.

JUNEC 02-10-2010 03:03 PM

I don't see it. It's a beautifully busy pattern.

CajunQuilter2 02-10-2010 03:10 PM

Your testing us right??!! I can't find it. And I have looked 4 times. I say leave it. Like everyone says, if she does not quilt and we have to look that hard to find it leave it as is. She will probably never notice.

Dora Taggart 02-10-2010 03:20 PM
