OBW-continued

I posted this project when it was still on the design wall. The individual blocks were almost worn out before we settled on this arrangement. My BFF who is the recipient came up with the diagonal flow of color. We crawled around on the floor for HOURS! Sure felt that the next couple of days. Only got it this far due to snow days here in Atlanta. Can't wait to get it quilted and on her bed!

Beautiful. Love the colors and your placement. I think that I might crawl also if I could make a quilt this good. Only thing is I would have a hard time getting up again. Your crawling sure made a super quilt and the back is great. BrendaK

That's a great OBW. I have the fabric for one too, and I can't wait to get going on it. Too many other quilts to finish or make first. You did a wonderful job.

I love it. It is so pretty. But I couldn't get on the floor. Someone would have to bring a hoist to get me up.LOL

QuiltnNan 02-12-2014 12:31 PM

not normally a fan of OBW but this one is just georgeous. I can see why you have such great variety. The starting fabric is amazing

ruthrings 02-12-2014 04:10 PM

I love OBWs and this one is exceptionally great! I also love that you used the original fabric on the back. Great choices!

Beautiful OBW, and yes they are fun but frustrating to put together. I have that fabric too, with the thought of a OBW, or maybe something else, not sure.

quiltingnd 02-12-2014 05:14 PM

It's gorgeous! One day I want to try making a OBW.

Clueless Quilter 02-12-2014 05:15 PM

Wonderful! I am so excited to see your OBW. That is the same fabric that I purchased to make one with. Unfortunately, I haven't started mine yet but yours has gotten me anxious to do so. I look forward to seeing if my blocks end up looking like yours, I certainly hope so!

Would you please tell me how wide you cut your strips? Thanks

PenniF 02-12-2014 05:25 PM

Strips were 5" taken from the Stack & Whack book before I bought the OBW book. I think they are larger than most OBW blocks but it cuts down on the matching points!

gabeway 02-13-2014 05:35 AM

It came out beautifully!

mighty 02-13-2014 08:08 AM

Beautiful!!!

quiltinglady 02-13-2014 09:35 PM

Applause, applause! A picture is worth a 1000 words. I have tried explaining OBW to a new group of quilters and can't wait to show them your pictures. The back of your quilt is just as pretty. You did it lady.:hunf: I put this because I am green with envy. Having fun!!

sewbizgirl 02-13-2014 09:52 PM

It's looking great. I'm trying to screw up the courage to try one... a square one with 4 pieces in each motif.

petpainter 02-14-2014 04:36 AM

What a Great job- it's always worth the time to play around with the blocks, they look superb! Oh, and really like the back, too.

EmiliasNana 02-14-2014 06:17 AM

I love your original fabric. What a lovely quilt it made. Great job on the placement, though I am with most...........I would still be on the floor LOL

cpcarolyn 02-14-2014 08:00 AM

Great quilt.

MargeD 02-14-2014 08:26 AM

Beautiful quilt and kudos for you and your BFF for crawling around on the floor to arrange the final design.

BuzzinBumble 02-14-2014 08:48 AM

That is a really beautiful OBW! They aren't easy, that's for sure - but your results speak for themselves.

Quiltinjay 02-14-2014 09:24 AM

I'm usually not a fan of OBW but your is really pretty...great fabric choice.

fmhall2 02-14-2014 10:11 AM
