Very pretty! It is amazing how the blocks all look so different.

Ha! I didn't really like the fabric either! It had 3 things going for it: 1. the background blue is the color of my formal living room walls and I do love that color. 2. it was really cheap. 3. it mostly met the guidelines in the tutorial (25% or less of background, movement, various colors, and good sized focal print).
It certainly does look better all whacked up, though!

ha! I loved the fabric before it was chopped up ..... and if it were me, I'd want to use the virgin for the backing. (that's the way I did my OBW) Be sure to keep a piece of it for a reference, whether you include it in the front or the back. Or perhaps as borders. I see the deep burgundy as an accent colour with it. Great that it matches your living room.

Your fabric is a perfect choice and you're going to have one dynamite quilt. What a great way to start the New Year!

Don't worry about auditioning blocks .... just sew them together!! It'll all work out fantastic!!

That looks great.

WOW!!!! I wasn't too sure when I first saw your fabric choice. I couldn't picture it as an OBW but when I saw the blocks I was blown away. You inspire me to make own of my own! Thanks!

You are off to a completely awesome start with that lovely fabric.

I never would have selected that fabric for a OBW, but the blocks are absolutely GORGEOUS! Am looking forward to seeing the completed top.
