Oh my Pink!!!

Needing a couple of girl quilts, so decided to make a scrappy of one of them. Used my scraps and the diamonds are forever pattern. Think it needs a solid border or two to slow it down some. What do you guys think?

ube quilting 07-29-2012 02:20 PM

Pink-a-lishous!

TanyaL 07-29-2012 02:21 PM

Hey, pink is pink. Why slow it down?

quilts4charity 07-29-2012 02:55 PM

I love it, I think I would do a narrow white or off white then pink border.

Mariposa 07-29-2012 02:57 PM

Love the pinks! A darker pink border would look great-IMHO~

4EVERquilt 07-29-2012 03:00 PM

Yes, add a couple of boarders. It's really a cute quilt. I love the way this turned out.

feline fanatic 07-29-2012 03:01 PM

Great scrappy. Love this pattern. It is like organized string quilting.

msquiltalot 07-29-2012 03:03 PM

A dark fuchsia border might be nice.

Diane007 07-29-2012 03:07 PM

pink is very good

nannyrick 07-29-2012 03:56 PM

That is so pretty!!! The girls will love it. I do.

hockeymom444 07-29-2012 04:20 PM

I am really into string quilts lately and I just love this one. I always like to put a solid border around them.....like you said....just to slow it down a bit!

nls 07-29-2012 04:27 PM

It is so pretty!!

HillCountryGal 07-29-2012 04:29 PM

You made me laugh when you talked about slowing it down a bit....
Beautiful quilt!
If you did several colors for the border maybe that turquoise I see in the prints along with pink would be good. Just thinkin' out loud here.

Tartan 07-29-2012 04:42 PM

A nice dark pink 2 inch border and then a larger medium pink border. You can't have too much pink!

Quilt Novice 07-29-2012 04:47 PM

It's beautiful!

My motto, too! Viva la pink! I think these border suggestions are good ones. I love this little scrappy! I can't wait to see it all done!!!

janceejan 07-30-2012 03:53 AM

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will start digging thru my stash this am and see what treasures I possess. Trying hard not to have to go buy anything but you never know!!! :p

jojosnana 07-30-2012 06:57 AM

I think it is wonderful.

Poakie 07-30-2012 07:09 AM

nativetexan 07-30-2012 08:43 AM

Jingle 07-30-2012 08:45 AM

Very pretty, perfect for a girl. Love the pink.

sassy granny 07-30-2012 09:49 AM

I agree with quilts 4 charity, I would use a narrow white border first and then a wider border of a pink paisley or small print. Love the pink, no point in slowing it down. T hat's a beautiful quilt.

I am sure that whomever you give this quilt will be Tickled Pink. Very nice quilt. BrendaK

javin22 07-30-2012 10:07 AM

really pretty. I like the design too.

PaperPrincess 07-30-2012 10:07 AM

Well, I guess I'm the odd one. I would do a narrow (like 1" or less) green border, picking out one of the greens from the prints you've used. Then go with a dark and light pink.
Love it!

Love it!

I agree, the green would soften the transition.

lisalovesquilting 07-31-2012 02:59 AM

I like it a lot! How about a thin white then a wider med. to dark pink?

Well that makes three of us! But either way it's a beauty.

callen 07-31-2012 06:09 AM

I agree with you, I think it needs a couple of solid borders to really enhance the pattern & frame it nicely.

IdahoSandy 07-31-2012 06:27 AM

I would use one of the darker pink prints for the border which will make the pink pop. Good job.
