Ohio Star
1 Attachment(s)
This Ohio Star quilt was made in a mystery class I took. We used Anita Hallock's "Fastpatch" method - it was a lot of fun and I was really happy with the way it turned out. Thanks for looking!

One of my favorite patterns. Your points look so crisp. Did that fastpatch method help with that? I would like to know more about that method.

Nice Quilt... I have been thinking of doing a Ohio Star quilt once I get caught up with hand quilting 2 queen size... I like the pattern you chose and I am most likely going to use it. Thanks for sharing

Well now I know where all the points I've been missing went. Lovey work, lovely quilt.

I love Ohio Star and snowball blocks! They sure go well together. I'm hoping to do one as well.

Thank you for all the nice comments! Several of you asked about the Fastpatch method. It was developed by Anita Hallock and is explained in her books: Fastpatch: A Treasury of Strip Quilt Projects; Scrap Quilts Using Fast Patch; and Fast Patch Kid's Quilts. (All are available at Amazon.) Basically you sew checkerboards, cut them apart diagonally, resew, and voila - you have a whole set of quarter square triangles completely done. So easy and fun! You can also use it to make flying geese and many other designs.

Lovely quilt. Had not heard of this method but going to look it up! Thanks for sharing.
|

great quilt!

You did a wonderful job on this. I love how the setting created the big white squares on point. Could you post a close up of the quilting in the alternating white blocks?
For those interested I found this great website explaining it. Looks like fun and I am definitely interested in trying it. http://www.pacinfo.com/~hallock/triangles.html |
