It sure is beautiful but doesn't look easy. Lots of pieces.
I ordered the pattern today. I can hardly wait to stat it.
the pattern cost $8.25 at Acorn Quilts in Rockford, IL
Did you say EASY???? happy quilting
I don't see how that could be easy at all! I don't even think I could count the number of pieces in it, let alone cut them out! Keep us updated and let us see your progress. Good luck and happy quilting...
The elements are certainly easy enough... a big however is the quantity required. That's a lot of piecing.
I love it. I hope you will enjoy the process. |
Oh my gosh! Thats all I've gotta say!
Looks like a lot of small pieces...Good luck.
Wow!
Wow, is right. Keep us posted.
That's easy?? Lol...Yes, someone posted their finished ohmygosh quilt a while back.
Wow that's a ton of pieces
I'd love to try this one. Please let us know how easy you think it is honestly.
Bought the pattern around Christmas, but so many irons in the fire that I have it simmering on the back burner for a while.
thanks for the link, she did an awesome job, hope mine turns out that good.
I can see easy. Time consuming too but worth it!!
It sure doesn't look easy
easy to piece, just really fiddly
It looks like it could be good therapy or you will need therapy. HaHa. Enjoy!!!
I can feel vertigo coming on. Won't be able to do this quilt. Good Luck and happy quilting.
I love this quilt, I am curious about its construction ....It would have to be a work in progress for a very long time in order for me to complete ..
I've got it half done. I finished the double 9 patch squares and I'm trying to decide if I want the same coordinating block or a different one. I've been playing with different blocks in EQ7 for a while and working on other projects in the interim.
Easy .... well the pieces are small, and there are quite a few of them. But it's strip pieced so yeah, in a sense it's easy. The best thing I can recommend is keep your seams super straight. With small pieces like that, a small error in seam allowance is enough to throw the whole block off. When you sub-cut the strips, keep re-squaring the strip iif necessary - ever 3-4 pieces. It's very easy to chain piece. I made mine by cutting enough strips to make perhaps 15 blocks at a time and I kept my pieces in a tray to keep them sorted. I would then pull pieces from the tray to pin and chain piece. Mine is scrappy. Also, startch, starch, starch. Good luck!! And be sure to show us yours!! |
Just because there are a lot of pieces doesn't mean it's a difficult quilt. Just keep all the parts and pieces in the right baggies and it will be a snap. Great pattern to use up your scraps.
Hi, I bought this pattern also. It looks like it SHOULD be easy. Those are the ones that really throw me for a loop. When I make this one it will be a very scrapy one. My friend saw the pattern and asked me if I had lost my mind. LOL
Good luck to who are making this one.. |
After posting, I was wondering if we could double the size of the blocks? That would take away the problem with small pieces.. Right?? wonder what it would look like? hmmmmm might make it easier.. Have to think about this
that is a beautiful quilt. i sure hope it goes together easily. am anxious to see the results.
Even if it's not easy it will be worth it. Love this quilt.

It pretty, but to many small pieces for me.
How is everyone making this quilt coming along? I can't wait to see pictures! I have had this pattern in my hand, held it for awhile , pondered, and then put it back. maybe someday when some of my other projects are done.

It looks a lot more complicated than it really is. It is all churn dash and 4 patches. They are just tiny. I did one a few years ago and still love looking at it. It is on a ladder in my living room. I'd post a picture, but don't know how.
It is not a quick block maker. You will sew and sew and think Is that all I made? But it was great fun when I started to assemble the blocks and lay them out. Have fun with it. |
