If these are your first pieces, I can't wait to see what you do later. They are very well done. I haven't tried a hexagon yet - looks challenging.

I really agree with Nina, these being your first blocks I can't wait to see what you do later either!!! These blocks are wonderful!!! Great job!! Absolutely love your color choices too!!

Thanks - hexagons were the easiest out of the lot so far.
And here is my block from this week......I will not be doing curves for a long long time after doing this block. It made me  |
Ohhh I like this one best of all so far!!! Lovely blue and florals, especially roses, are my favorite! I'd say you made the block..not it made you  You're doing absolutely beautiful work!!
Oh thank you so much Lisa, I really appreciate it. It is nice to get some outside input about what I am doing.
You guys are really sweet. Nina - definitely give the hexagons a go, they are so easy and good to do in front of the TV  |
Good job! You are a beginner? Doesn't show......
They are excellent... My first ones did not look as nice as yours
Lookin' great! You have much to be proud of!

Kaitlyn's Mummy does beautiful work! :) Your blocks are beautiful and I just love the colors. Well done! :)
Oh the flower garden blocks are especially pretty!
So nice and such beautiful colors and fabric prints!
You are doing beautifully for a beginner! I bet your teacher is proud of your work so far. I'm impressed they were all sewn by hand! Make more! :D :D :D
Beautiful. Love your color choices.......
Lovely. It looks like a good class, teaching you several different kinds of quiltmaking skills!
I am almost 100% a hand piecer & I can tell you that your work is FABULOUS!
I am like the other Ladies--if you are a beginnner, I can hardly wait to see what works of art are ahead! Riley |
You do beautiful work and your blocks are beautiful. Love your colors. My hat is off to you for hand quilting. I avoid hand sewing with a passion but I appreciate the work and effort put into a hand quilted piece. Good job.

Kaitlynn'sMummy:
I love your Drunkard's Path block...I hope you'll re-consider and do another one in the future as this block is gorgeous and makes a wonderful blanket. I love it and have made several pieces using this pattern. I've found that each time I make the block it gets easier and I enjoy making it more because I learn from each try. Thanks for sharing your block. It really is lovely. |
Great job! Everything looks great.
Very pretty! Looks like your teacher knows how to keep you challenged.
Lovely blocks! So romantic!
Sorry, I can't be gentle, but I can be honest. TRIPLE WOW :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: AWESOME      Great job. If thats your first and hand pieced, you have some truely fabulous quilts in your future. Keep it up, girlfriend. :-) :-) :-) Pam W. :-) :-) :-)

Oh my goodness everyone. Thank you so much. I am really overwhelmed at all of your comments.
I think because I enjoy doing it so much that I put the effort into it and try and make it as good as I can. With each block I do it gets easier to match up the seams and make it look like it is supposed to. I have only been doing this since 18 February and feel like I have learnt so much in that time and look forard to doing more and more. My ultimate goal is to do at least 1 Baltimore block, which one of the more advanced ladies in our class is doing. I only wish I had more time at home to do more, but with a 16 month old it gets hard to find the time. Thank you again everyone, it really means a lot to me that people I don't know (who I am sure I will get to know) think that my work is good. :D |
These blocks look great you are doing a great job matching your points. Keep up the great work.
I'm with them! If these are your first attempt, I can't wait to see it all finished. I do not have the patience for hand quilting. I took a class when I started, and the teacher said we absolutely had to hand piece and quilt. Well, that sampler is still in my closet 10 years later, and it is not finished. I admire anyone who has the patience to do that fine of work. Keep it up, and reconsider the Drunkard's path. You give me hope. I have not attempted one, because I really hate template cutting.
Anyway, good job, hon! :D |
These are beautiful! I am jealous.... I envy anyone who has the knack to do hand piecing especially when it looks as good as yours. I have a joint disease that is starting to affect my hands so hand sewing would probably just frustrate me and I would not be sewing.
I love your work and your colors are so springy...they are awesome! :) |
Beautiful!! You are looking like a pro! Go you!
very nice work.
Kyia |
oh just WOW !!!
Beautiful work!! I admire you for hand piecing, I think it is great but I just can't make myself do it. I want to get through and get on with the next one. Keep up that fantastic work. I can tell we will see great things from you.
ooooooooh what soft colours!!! this is going to be a gorgeous quilt! cant' wait to see the finished product
So Pretty! Wow, you are doing them all by hand, too :D I can't wait to see you get them all put together :D You are doing great!
Your blocks look perfect. Myfirst quilting class was also hand piecing. I fell in love with it then (20+ years ago) and still love doing it. We do period re-enactments and it is a great project to take to different events and I don't need lots of "stuff" if my pieces are cut and marked. My problem is I finish more piecing of tops than I actually quilt. That is my downfall!!! My daughters can fight over the tops when I am gone. Keep up the good work.
What beautiful blocks! I love to hand piece in front of the tv. Yours look spectacular, love the fabric choices and the workmanship..wow..great job :D
They are all great, the curved one is exceptional. You are brave trying such hard blocks to learn with. I learned a secret with the curved ones to make the blocks over size and sew them without pinning and then cut to size. Of, course it is hard to line them up for cutting but once you do a couple it isn't too hard to cut to size accurately. I have a 14 year old doing one and they are turning out great. She is using wild print. Can't wait to see how it looks when she puts the blocks together.
Your blocks are beautiful and you are off to an amazing start in quilting. Can't wait to see the quilt they become!
very nice. If you like to quilt I predict you'll be a contender. :D
Are you SURE you are a beginner? LOL. You've done a wonderful job on them, they are all lovely!
Yep definitely a beginner. I have finished another block this week, but haven't gotten around to taking a photo of it. I will hopefully do that tonight.
Thank you again everybody for all of your lovely comments, it is nice to know I am doing a fairly good job. :D |
Fairly good?
