I was so thrilled about the miniquilts in the alzquilts.org
page you posted, that I HAD to try this out. Do you think this could pass as a dresden if I find a way to make the round shape of the pedals more accurate? Or are 8 pedals "only" a flower? Could not put the pic in a pm Granny |

Oh, So SWEET!!!!

I have a pattern for a " mug rug" dresden plate... yours looks the same....don't know why it could ont be called a mini quilt.
|
A study in mini:) Cute.

http://www.alzquilts.org/quiltsforsale.html I adore the art minis, no way I could do this. But I saw no dresden (quilting a big one right now) I was just playing around and have to go to bed now - past midnight over here. Might try again tomorrow after work. Granny |
Very pretty, I love the colors.

You have more patience than I, to make that mini ... 8 petals in a mini would still be a dresden in my books! :) |

Very cute block and such fun fabrics.

I love it! It's so mini and cute! A hug!

T, these are adorable! Dresden plates can have as many as 16 petals can't they? I'd say this is a D Plate I just checked Rhonda's ebook on Dresden plates. Think she has ones on the smaller side--here it is:
http://www.quiltedparadise.com/n/983-owz.jsp And her free templates info is here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-144668-1.htm Can't wait to see how this will turn out. I do very little applique, don't know why. The AAQI site has design inspirations for just about anyone--maybe it's a color combo or a technique. G |
I agree on the Dresyden. SO cute. I want to make some mini's soon.
|
I just made a google search on Dresden plate images--was one with 20 petals. Also some with points. Robert Kaufmann has a free pattern that show you how to make the pointed version. You could adapt this to your size. I would think the points would be easier to manage than the rounded ends. If you prefer the rounded ends it won't take you much adapting to get your block the way you want it to look. Personally I think it looks pretty good right now!

Your block is cute as a button! It will make a wonderful mini quilt for AAQI. I have made 15 quilts for this project....sometimes 2 in one day. Every quilt helps raise money for the cause. Join the quilt a month club & make more if you like. :)
