Olaf! For my sister...
 

Hi,
Just sharing a pic or two of an Olaf panel quilt I made up for my little sister, who shares my fondness for this great character! He never fails to make me smile, and hope it brings a smile or two to her face too!yy. It's backed with nice soft Olaf print flannel.

This was my first experience with working with a panel, building it out to a functional size for an adult and quilting it. I'm pretty happy with the outcome. I still have one ready to assemble and quilt yet for myself, so we'll each have one :)

Thanks PaperPrincess! I'm glad you noticed those darn stars! I made 30 of them thinking to fill the borders with them but with the plan of making our two quilts the same, meaning I'd have to make 30 more, decided we would share them! They are paper pieced and fiddley and took forever!

It's great how you picked up the colors on the panel for the stars. All of the quilting is beautiful, but the modern look of the straight line quilting around the stars is so very attractive to me!

Love it! Beautiful quilt. Thanks for sharing that the character makes you smile. I work in retail and there is a big stuffed Olaf on the shelf. Every day I control myself and have not bought him to take home. I've just decided that I'm not too old :o)

I am loving all these validating comments as I really was feeling I'd done a really corny thing in the end for my sister and myself making us the Olaf quilts. (Considering we are well past the age of 29 if you know what I mean). There is still a child in all of us to celebrate!

The stars are lovely and uniquely placed. The quilting is seemingly simple in places, almost like a Frank Lloyd Wright piece, and nicely curvy in other places along the border. You have a unique combination and the finished quilt will be a joy for your sister to examine.

It was upside down for me, too. But I right-clicked on the picture and then clicked "view image". It popped up right side up.
