the Confetti pattern will recreate that look. i don't own the pattern, so can't say whether or not it replicates the method used for the quilt you have.

your quilt was made by piecing elongated hexagons around square centers. additional squares were used as spaces to plug in the holes between the blocks as they were sewn together. lots of Y-seams.

it's similar to a traditional grandmother's garden.

Y-seams can be a bit tricky by machine, but are very easy to stitch by hand.

Good Morning to you. I just made 3 of these blocks in swaps with my sisters and your old quilt looks sorta of like this block. It is called Shoofly. Does it look the same to anyone else.
Good luck with your search

Sorry, I forgot to add where you can find it.

Hey welcome to the board, prissy! Could it be a Kansas Dugout? Think I have an older quilt magazine with it. Will do some checking. What a beautiful love worn quilt.

Very pretty quilt. I'm not familiar with that pattern though.

The best I could find was this pattern on the last row called confetti

I agree; this looks like English Paper Piecing in the confetti pattern to me. We usually think of Grandmother's Flower Garden when we think of EPP, but there are lots of designs. This is an interesting site with tutorials:

This on is similiar, but seems to be bigger squares. If you used a single patch in the middle as oppesed to a 4 patch ?

How big are the squares on the original quilt ?
