These are quilts that my great grand mother made and don't know how old she was my grandmother died when she was 90 so they have to be over a hundred years old. The flower one was made by my husband's great great grandmother it has a note on it telling of how it crossed the
river in a covered wagon. The blue one has stains on it, but I am afraid to wash it as it might fall apart and the stains on the other one is water stains it got crossing the river.. His mother died when she was 85 so it is very old also. This one my hubby's great great grandmother made this one is the one my great grand mother made A close up of the same quilt |

That is so neat to have those quilts and that note! Treasure them.

What treasure these are !
Thank you for sharing ! |
How nice to have these treasures.
As a suggestion ... perhaps put a permanent label on there, so that as it gets passed along the generations the story can be told. Include the names, their birth/death dates and the approx year you think it was made ... and any other family lore related. The hand written note is nice, though pieces of paper fall off and get lost! |
What a wonderful story to tell your grandchildren as you wrap them in a this beautiful quilt.
