You might remember about one and 1/2 years ago I showed this on my design wall. I sent it to a local LAQ in my neighborhood. Just got the binding finished. I need to make the label and pillow cases and it will go to my daughter.

Gorgeous! I have the book, just seems very intimidating. What did your original fabric look like?

lfstamper 11-28-2012 04:11 PM

Very lovely! Your daughter is a lucky girl!

Tartan 11-28-2012 04:18 PM

Great quilt! Is this the only one you've done or is it the first of several? I have done one Stack and Whack, one 4 patch posy and collected fabric for 2 OBW. That is as far as I've got.

Grandma Bonnie 11-28-2012 04:19 PM

It's beautiful! Your daughter will love it!

Diane007 11-28-2012 04:29 PM

Absolutely stunning!

sewingsuz 11-28-2012 04:42 PM

This is the first I have done. I would like to try the stack and wack. Good luck with OBW it is very time consuming and I did not enjoy that much.

Very pretty. I made one that nobody would want. Haha. But love making stack and whack. They are much easier. I love yours!

Sapphire_Rae 11-28-2012 08:34 PM

Congrats on finishing it, it is great! My OBW is still a UFO.

SandyinZ4 11-28-2012 08:36 PM

I always admire anyone of you who has done a OBW. It is lovely and although I know I will never do one, I love to look at yours!

ruthrings 11-28-2012 09:23 PM

I'm not sure what the difference is between OBW and Stack and Whack. I've done a couple as well as a 4 patch and found them really fun. the OBW with triangles is considerably more time consuming, but I love turning the pieces to decide which I want in the center, and then experiencing the fun of:"Oh! Look how this turned out!!" Each one is a surprise. And if that's not enough, then deciding how to layout the blocks is yet another creative experience. This quilt is really beautiful,by the way!

watson's mom 11-28-2012 09:40 PM

It's a beauty, I really love all the colours. Nice work too. I have two of those books, maybe this will be the push I need to start one. Thanks for the inspiration and thank you for sharing with all of us.

Your quilt is lovely. I imagine your daughter will love it and the gorgeous colors. I have made several OBW and find it is so much fun to see what it looks like in the end. Your borders really draw the blue and green colors out. Thanks for sharing.

Quilter 65 11-29-2012 09:36 AM

if I HAD to pick a favorite pattern, I think S & W would be it. They are so fascinating and really like the variation you can achieve. Yours is gorgeous! Such pretty colors and even when I am looking for something else, I evaluate every piece of fabric with a S & W in mind.

BrendaK 11-29-2012 09:42 AM

Ditto to what has been said. The only thing I have to ask is. COULD YOU USE ANOTHER DAUGHTER or another mother or another grandmother? Heck can I just be in your family? That is just beautiful. BrendaK

Mariposa 11-29-2012 09:44 AM
